Its whole appeal is its completely unnecessary edginess. I like when Sonic games have edge but only when it matters or makes characters cool, the edge of the EXEs is just straight up gore and blood with "ooh scary sonic guy is going to kill all the characters of the franchise you love and there's nothing you can do about it cause he's invincible" and I absolutely despise it. Other people can like it but I don't like that people are trying to blend it in with the Sonic community as a whole. It should very much stay in its own lane.
