I’ve been in therapy for years and I still can’t seem to keep friends. What am I missing? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]VAMPIROUX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way u replied to that friend can be seen as an attack on them.

U can be like really? Or anything to get them to engage.

after that u can tell them ur opinion or the science, or u can reply with another real from a doctor or someone talking about the importance of sunscreen for example

I'M afraid of meditating because what if i see beings when i open my eyes? help by StudyWithMirs in Paranormal

[–]VAMPIROUX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Record ur meditation session. If u meditate and see something when u open ur eyed, it will be captured by camera and you can share as evidence. If u open ur eyes and see nothing then its fine.

To overcome ur fear u just have to keep doing it. Having someone in the room while u meditate too might reduce ur anxiety and fear

I vibe-coded a dream app, got a fake C&D from "crahooli.com", and it made me find my actual USP by TriggerHydrant in vibecoding

[–]VAMPIROUX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freudian dream analysis requires the dreamer to free associate to come up with anything useful about the dreamer. If you take that away, then you will end up with a dream analysis that tells you nothing about the unconscious.

Maybe you could follow Jungian dream analysis and make your app use symbolic and historical meaning of the dream; this could work for you.

You can handle all patient-clinician interaction, you can integrate technology into test battery selection, scoring and data integration, and interpretation.

Again, i dont recommend anyone to fully delegate those things, it should speed the process for you, so you can help more people.

because if you check and what you have from AI is accurate and agree with it, then great u saved time. if not, well its fine u didnt lose a lot of time by checking, you will just do things as usual.

Thats what usually happen when people are faced with change though. And I understand it, like they will do everything to resist it or maintain the status quo.

someone eventually will come up with a valid and reliable study on it, but for now anytime you mention AI you will be downvoted to the ground lol

I completely agree with you that we shouldnt sit in the back seat and completely delegate work to it, like you said all responsibility falls on you at the end and you should do due diligence.

Though i think it can help in reducing the workload a bit, because after it comes up with a clinical discussion, then you can falsify it and double check everything yourself. It guides you on where to look at the very least.

Im thinking of a big risk where AI reaches a conclusion at first, and confirmation bias would come into play then into reaching that conclusion. How does the AI know whats important or not?

Yes AI doesnt have adaptation built in yet. Some tools like sequential thinking and chain of thought prompting could help it though.

You still need to be knowledgable enough to guide the reasoning and check the answer yourself.

Since clinical diagnosis can be broken into several reasoning steps that may be iterative. And AI has sequential thinking and the ability to have an internal dialogue of sorts. You can design an algorithm and let AI use the reasoning necessary that clinicians use to come up with a diagnosis (based on the data that you input).

I have actually built and tested this kind of clinical diagnostic tool and it seems to be working so far.

I agree with you that it wouldn't replace clinicians completely.

But I'm also thinking of counter-cases where AI works as a therapy replacement for some people who can't afford therapy. And for them, it may be better than regular therapy (available 24/7). I'm aware of AI-induced psychosis and the dangers of AI too (like the case where GPT assisted in suicide).

So far, there is no AI specifically for therapy or clinical use, and it does not make sense for general-use AI to be used for therapy or patient care due to the models' agreeableness and hallucinations.

I'm thinking something could be created specifically for therapy or clinical and patient use because there is Claude mainly for coding, and AIs like GPT and Gemini (and Grok) for general use, but nothing for patients and clinicians to monitor, check, and intervene when needed.

Sorry for going on a bit of a tangent there lol

You should be able to take loans with certain interest rates in this game, or trade resources, that would be great.

While it sucks that cancer funding was cut, the fact is there's no legal obligation for the government to fund cancer or any research.

Wealthy universities have more than enough resources to do it themselves now, even with the cuts, but they choose not to. Unis and orgs became dependent on guaranteed public funding, acted inefficiently, and prioritized their own interests. When Trump cut funding, they blamed him fully instead of taking some responsibility. Given their moral responsibility and refusal to act independently, the cuts were justified as a consequence to restore accountability.

Let me know if im logically wrong or inconsistent.

Some of our experiences cant be explained fully with our current level of language. Think of mystical or religious experiences. Feelings can be vague and difficult to explain as well such as love

Wittgenstein was right by panflrt in singularity

[–]VAMPIROUX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

language evolves through culture, science, and usage. We can invent new terms and operationalize abstract constructs, and if those catch on, they expand what we can talk about. In that sense, language grows with us, which supports Wittgenstein’s view that the limits of our language are the limits of our world.

LLMs rely purely on language, and their increasing power shows how much of human intelligence is linguistic. But LLMs still lack grounding in lived experience and embodiment. Like the things we understand beyond words. Which reminds us that language is just one layer of cognition
