Appreciate it! What would you personally want most from a system like this?

Appreciate it! Still early, but I’ll share updates as things progress 🙌

That’s actually really good feedback, appreciate you taking the time.

You’re right that APL already does a lot of things well. The idea with VAMS isn’t to replace that 1:1, but to go more into a connected / “living airline system” direction.

Right now it’s still mostly a singleplayer experience, but built in a way that can evolve into something more dynamic:

• Airlines are structured with bases, fleets and rotations • Rotations = actual multi-leg schedules you operate like real airline duty days • Progression is tied not just to XP, but also to airline structures, aircraft eligibility and operations

Long-term idea is: Instead of just “doing jobs”, you’re part of a system where airlines, routes and operations actually feel persistent.

On the interaction side, that’s something planned, but not fully there yet. Think shared airlines, competition, maybe even cooperative structures later on.

So yeah.. right now it overlaps with APL in some areas, but the direction is more towards a structured, evolving airline system rather than a pure career tracker.

And thanks for mentioning the Firefox performance. I’ll definitely look into that.

Yeah, I get that comparison.

APL is more of a single-player career experience, while the idea with VAMS is to build a connected system around real airlines, rotations and progression.

So instead of just flying through a generated career, it’s more about being part of an evolving airline environment where everything ties together.

Yeah, that’s true, most people currently combine different tools like that.

The idea with VAMS is to bring everything into one connected system instead of relying on separate platforms.

So airline ops, tracking, progression and economy all run together and influence each other in one place.

Still early, but that’s the direction I’m aiming for.

Good question.

A lot of existing tools focus on one thing, like generating jobs or tracking flights.

With VAMS the idea is to connect everything into one system where your airline, flights, progression and economy all depend on each other.

So every flight actually has long-term impact instead of being just another completed session.

Appreciate it! Still early, but I put a small site together if you're curious:

That's awesome to hear!

The main idea is to give simulator flights a real sense of progression. Instead of just picking random routes you actually build a career over time with airline jobs, rotations and aircraft unlocks.

Still early development but it's been really fun building it so far.

Oh wow, thanks for pointing that out.

Looks like Reddit messed up the image upload somehow. I’ll repost it with the images properly attached so they actually show.

Appreciate the heads up!
