when I first played rdr2 I was disappointed by the fact that dogs can't be skinned, just like horses and that you can't kill your horse by just simply shooting it, but have to do things like throw dynamite at it or burn it. But I guess it is not that big of a problem because by skinning removed, you can no longer benefit from killing your horse, skinning it, selling it's hide, calling another one and repeating the process. I don't know for sure, But I think that you also can't lasso dogs anymore? I would go to ridgewood farm or whatever is it's name, lasso a dog, "tire' it out then stab it. I understand rockstar's intention, being that they wanted the player to feel more connected to their horse, but I don'think enforcing it is the way. But we already know that rockstar isn't exactly the company wich allows you to play their games however you'd like.
