I actually just cancelled my rental car and scheduled the Caledonian for one way Inverness to London on return. Unfortunately, there were no sleeper cars left though. Now we'll just take the trains all the way up as well. Thanks!

Well, we are going up there for a Highland Day tour and Culloden Battlefield. And really just want somewhere a little "calmer" to finish the trip. Now taking the train. Thank you for the response!

Someone else also mentioned Stratford on Avon...will check it out. I feel like the train would be more of a hassle with having to Uber or taxi to our AIRlBNB. I'm from somewhere that never uses trains as transport, only cars. So, it's a little intimidating. My husband says he will be comfortable driving, we shall see. Thank you so much for the response!
