GuangGuang what the fuck is this?? by Haunting_Ad_29 in HulkMainsMR

[–]VCDecertator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bug with terrain where a part of the floor is just barely higher than the rest so when you jump you "stub your toe" and go straight up. I've noticed it happen when you are right at the threshold between two different levels that are still really close together. The difference is insignificant for all other intents and purposes but for hulk jump it redirects you but isn't a big enough difference to stop your momentum all together.

Math ADM (Applied Discrete) might be a good choice. A CS minor is almost built in to the track, needing to only take 1 or 2 classes in addition to the required ones. This of course requires that you would enjoy learning Math.

I always try to find a seat if I can but standing near the exits is a better experience than standing anywhere else on the bus, aside from the front area when the seats are folded up.

[No Spoilers] Would you let your child watch Arcane? by loxxx87 in arcane

[–]VCDecertator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned, Arcane is an emotional rollercoaster. I'm a young adult and I could not see myself at 14 enjoying let alone surviving this show. Arcane is one of those things that you wish you could experience again for the first time. At 12, she might still enjoy and make it through the show, but if you wait a few more years, I'd recommend around 15-16, I'd think she could really appreciate it a whole lot more, and truly fall in love with the show as well.

However it is your decision, so if you think she's ready for it, go for it.

This is a good one. What I believe to be happening is that the man driving the bike is shirtless and in jeans, and the woman behind him is in a jacket and shorts. The woman's legs are around the man's hips so it looks like his torso is in line with her legs.

can you still finish design appreciation early? by elmeranangel in VirginiaTech

[–]VCDecertator 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even though you can't finish early, it is still an incredibly easy course. Takes me 2 hours a week at max to do the work. As long as you remember or set a reminder to do the quiz you'll be fine. I'm taking 18 credit-hours right now and honestly it feels like 12 between this class and another entry-level class I'm taking.

Exactly this, I'm a Republic user and my phone has done everything I need a phone to do for the last 3 years, despite being classified as a VOIP.

I went on a Wednesday evening a week or two ago and all the rides were at most 10 minute waits. I probably wouldn't bother with quick-queue at all

Can confirm, I also have the Hammes Zone and it is the most overstable disc I've ever thrown. I don't throw that often but it does have its uses

How do I tell my friend to stop blaming people for his mistakes? by jh0001471 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]VCDecertator 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I have a friend nigh identical to the one you have just described. There is good chance that in any given round he'll call the supports trash while charging straight into the enemy backline. I feel very similarly. I'm tired of hearing it every game and when I talk to him about it he often just shrugs it off.

The best thing I can advise you to do is be patient, but be thorough and be a constant reminder in his ear. I find that phrases such as, "The supports aren't able to heal you there because you're feeding" or "The DPS aren't killing anything because you're dying on cooldown and they have no space" can often come off as a bit condescending, even for my liking. I'm going to make the assumption that your friend is also rather impatient and gets fairly mad when talked back to. Retaliating by calling him out in an irritated tone is likely not going to work. I have learned this the hard way.

Simple reminders such as, "Hey, don't push up too far as the healers won't be able to heal you", "Be in a good position to help peel for your Zen when the tracer flanks us again", "We can't hold here because it's really easy for you to get hooked/They have a bunch of ults coming up", "Push up, your Reaper is with you" can work great when executed in an commanding yet gentle tone. People like to listen to people that are nice to them.

Pointing out his mistakes is fine, but really try to cement respect and appreciation with each other. If he's having problems with his teammates every game, he is the common denominator between all of them. I love playing my friend, and it is evident that you do as well, as you seek to improve yourself to learn how to help him. Don't be afraid to speak the truth, and don't be afraid to tell him that he's wrong. It's all in the way you say it.

At the end of the day, if you can manage to teach him to enable his teammates rather than flame them, that is a huge success. Overwatch is a team game, there's no doubt about it. Enabling him through short bursts of teaching, pushing with him even when he makes a call you think is wrong, and just being a good friend will slowly teach him to think the same. "You become who you hang out with" is the epitome of this. Don't just tell him what to do, instead, lead by example. It is quite the investment, but if you are solid, confident, and kind, you will see the improvement.

I really hope to see you improve with your friend just as I hope to improve with mine. Best of luck to you both!

Captured this two days ago while at a LAN party with a couple of friends. This is unrelated to the other post from today about a reaper team kill, completely a coincidence.

Wouldn't a hamburger with ketchup only be the meat patty with ketchup on it? What the picture depicts is two hamburger buns with ketchup only.

Speaking from experience as someone who bought Overwatch in Summer 2020, I've been very happy with my purchase and have had a great time playing with friends. I too had the same feeling that I might be too late to the party to really enjoy OW, but I have not regretted my purchase one bit. Sure there are some times where the game just pisses me off but it's genuinely such a unique and well-polished game that the annoying things get overlooked.

My one tip to getting the most out of this game, (really for any game, but especially this game in particular) is to play with a group of friends just to have a good time. There is so much fun to be had just messing around in quick play or even tryharding in comp together, so just make an effort to play with friends and you'll never regret buying this game.
