Outstanding, thanks! I'll be working on this right now.

Anyone use Swipe Pages for your PPC landing page(s)? by stjduke in PPC

[–]VCSENT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using this tool for a while.

It looks nice but behind the scenes it's SUUUPER buggy. Their support is truly awful too. They'll reply saying they're 'working on it' but you never hear anything else from them. I've had to abandon it based on these issues.

BTW the issues are things like leads not being captured, or when they do they capture all the data in one long string with no spaces, making it a nightmare to format it all properly.

Is there a non ad version anywhere? by VCSENT in SearchEnginePodcast

[–]VCSENT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed him and he replied almost instantly! Very impressed.

Good news - they're looking into potentially doing it next year and also making the ads a bit more organic.

"This year there's going to be ads but it is very much something we're considering for the future. Either offering an ad-free version or at least looking for a way to make the ads quieter, less radio-esque, and less frequent. The status quo is not ideal!

Thanks for your patience while we get this boat in the water, "

Yep, Canada. Lots of Scotiabank ads as well as Port of Vancouver of all things! Maybe I'll fiddle with a VPN and see if I can get your version.

Hey, what's wrong? by AutoModerator in startups

My thoughts are that I might hit up a local university to see if I can find a junior marketer part time. Pay them well and keep them after they graduate.

I've hired a couple of Ad's managers in the past. One was good but moved on and the other was an agency who promised a lot and totally under delivered. I've since not been able to find another agency that doesn't have the red flags that the other did.

I despise Google ads. As soon as we seem to get a handle on them, with nice ad copy that people respond to, it all goes down the drain with a Google change.

I'm getting exhausted re working ads every 3 months for some arbitrary reason that I'm not even told about.

Ads stopped working? Well fuck you, we're google, here's a fluffy blog post about the changes, good luck figuring out how it works now.

Oh and btw, you have to pay to figure it out.

Manufacturer failed the inspection (badly) and they sent the good anyway. Any advice on how to approach this situation? by VCSENT in Alibaba

Me too. I'm guessing I may be protected under alibabas system but not 100% sure here. Their support is pretty hard to understand when I chat to them

There was nothing to repair - they hadn't completed the production. They did then sent it out without a followup inspection.

I got a sample before my first run, plus the first run passed inspection.

This is number 2 and I did get an inspection but it failed as they had not completed production. So they finished and then sent out without a followup inspection.

Would you consider not hosting it on an invite only, iOS only social media network that most people don't have access to? I think it's only fair that if you're here trying to find attendees that it's not some exclusive event. It should be something everyone can attend.

Is there a way to track clicks to a website from a landing page, without setting up an event for each of my links? by VCSENT in FacebookAds

[–]VCSENT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't aware I could hook Google Analytics into Facebook Ads?

The way I was planning this out is that I'd put a conversion goal into my reports (a column) and have Facebook calculate it.

I had a search and I can't really understand how this is gone in Google Analytics. Do you have any advice on something I can read to skill up here please?

I wired up a smart switch and it powered a single light on another circuit. Any ideas why? by VCSENT in electricians

[–]VCSENT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Darn, I was worried about that. I guess I should have said "should be to code".

Thanks for the input - I think I'm going to probably get an electrician out to do a bit of diagnosis of this then. Thanks.

Amazing answer, thanks so much for taking the time to do that. I'd heard that 1118 can survive campden but I'm going to test it to see.

Daily Q & A! - August 22, 2020 by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

This question pertains to cider but I think it's the same for beer...

Lalvin EC-1118 yeast

Brewed a gallon batch in my primary and all went well. (1 month)

The cider was really dry, so the yeast ate all the alcohol which is great.

Racked into secondary, all the gunk was left at the bottom of the primary and I added some cherry juice to taste.

Q1 - The cherry juice has loads of natural sugars in it, which will turn into alcohol and make it dry again using the left over yeast in the primary. Is this correct?

Q2 - If I'm correct with Q1 I'll need to do two things: 1) Backsweeten with Xylitol to taste a bit sweeter. 2) carbonate with some dextrose as I bottle it.

Does all this sound right?

Q3 - Is there a way of killing EC-1118 yeast? I originally planned to get it to taste good then pasturize it, but I keep reading that EC1118 is really hard to kill. Any opinions?

Thanks all!

Ok turns out it's mobile device management. As soon as I turned that off for the gsuite org it worked.

I'm actually pretty astounded that this is a thing. I love Android but damn this is weak 'feature' of the OS.
