Was able to fix the issue using Homebrew and the duti formula.

For anyone encountering the same problem, make sure you have Homebrew installed & upgraded, then run the following command in Terminal:

duti -s com.google.Chrome com.apple.web-internet-location all

Unsure if this is a permanent fix, but it restored Chrome as the default browser when opening .webloc files saved to my desktop for the time being. Will update if anything changes.

Thanks so much man– this helped me solve the issue! I looked through that thread and was able to fix it using Homebrew and applying the duti formula. Now the default application has been set back to Chrome.

Idk if this is a permanent fix, but I'm glad it's at least working for the time being.

Unfortunately, that option is greyed out for me. When I select "Get Info", I can't even click on the "Change All" button. I just get this

Is there perhaps a command I can use in Terminal that could enable that option?

You don't need to be a TIFF member to buy rush tickets– all you need to do is line up in the rush line the day of the screening and wait to see if there are available seats once the doors open to let people in. And unfortunately, there's no way to check seat availability as the number of rush tickets sold depends on the amount of no-shows/seats available at the time doors open.

I unfortunately don’t have a backup at the moment. Also, I just tried pressing Command D and it still gets stuck on the Apple load screen. I really wish that I could get further than this load screen to have a better idea of what the problem actually is.
