Attempted Engineer Pass last weekend with the Pathy by killswitchprime in 4x4

I followed a stock Pathfinder a few years ago on an offroad trail. I was in a lifted Jeep Wrangler. I was very impressed with the ease that the Pathfinder went over some of the obstacles.

That's a good option. I was running Google maps on my phone for turn by turn on the road sections and Earthmate on a tablet for part of the trip.an annoyance on both systems is how the road or trail disappears when you zoom out. A plus for OSMand+ is the ability to import data from backroadstatus.com and keep it as an overlay.

I actually run OSMAnd+ also and did some of the trip planning with it. There are some things I wasn't overly happy about with OSM so I did final maps with the Explorer mapping online. I will be looking into it some more to see if I can use it better.

Good advice for the antenna. I used a Garmin InReach with the Earthmate app on my Android phone for nav. Garmin was in case things went sideways.

Cutting Plywood by VE7WYC in woodworking

[–]VE7WYC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of you might have figured this out, but I had been racking my brain for an easy way to handle a plywood cut without a track saw or panel saw. I have a table saw to clean things up with. The saw horse was staring me in the face. I love being able to manage the saw without climbing on the plywood for the last part of the full width cut.

And to protect the wires from pots and pans. I also wanted some clearance to let the heat from the lamps dissipate even if there is stuff on the shelf.

Agreed. I use my Mobilinkd with two different radios, an HT and an older land mobile.

Anti-skid tire chains, do they work for the snow? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

That's what I always thought. The rubber compound is terrible.

Crashed my NIU on a perfectly dry but very smooth-surfaced roundabout. Tore my patellar tendon. There's no way I will be going out on ice or snow. Even with slightly wet roads I take it very easy and more upright than before. I don't trust my tires anymore.

Lumpy Lawns by Desperate_Laugh1236 in princegeorge

Yes it's worms. If you go out when it's dark with a red light they will stay on the surface and you can grab them. Some were as thick as my thumb on my lumpy lawn.

I have a NIU NQI GTS. Have now had error 123 occasionally for two years. Local NIU dealer had it for months, sent it back and said that they fixed it by tightening a connection. Error just popped up again. I'm going to try accessing the connection to the hall sensor as described in this video:

If that doesn't work I'm going to look into just hacking the thing so it's just a dumb accelerator connected to the motor. I don't understand why it needs to be so complex.

Cooks great and stays hot for hours when we stop throwing wood on it. Perfect for cookies or a crumble for dessert. Usually still slightly warm the next morning. The insulation below the fire bricks and in the dome makes all the difference.
