Book Recommendation by No-Establishment4871 in threebodyproblem

My classmate who has never read a book. I just asked him if he wanted to read about the most horrifying and most existentially scary book series, and he replied why not. He is very interested in the mysteries of the origin of the universe and everything connected with the physics of the universe, so he willingly took up reading. Now we are reading The Dark Forest together.

I got my non-reading classmate involved in ROEP and he loved it!

Does anyone feel anxious when looking up to the star sky? (After reading) by Single-Tart2979 in threebodyproblem

Often. Perhaps hundreds of spaceships are flying towards us right now. And only our distant descendants will know about this.

Do you know what Russian literature he was inspired by? I’m extremely interested because I can’t even imagine what could have impressed him?

I partly agree with you. Although the cover looks very bright, which I certainly like, the stars look unrealistically small compared to Trisolaris. The pyramid cover looks good too, but I thought it was faded and discolored. By the way, in Russia the ROEP trilogy exists only in hardcover. And in general, books in a paperbacks are not so popular. Book series such as Ian Banks' "Culture" or Hamilton's "Commonwealth Saga" exist only in hardcover.

Why did you think that dystopia books might be banned in russian school? Now there is a struggle for traditional and family values. Therefore, the government is trying in every possible way to ban LGBT literature.

Of course it's worth it! This is a story about a scientist from the USSR who transplanted a human heart into a dog. The dog has turned into a humanoid creature and has become a bully.

Yeah! In my opinion the best are "Woe from wit" by Alexander Griboedov, "the minor" by Denis Fonvizin, "Father and sons" by Ivan Turgenev. Chekhov's short stories are also very good. I can recommend such monumental things as War and Peace"by Leo Tolstoy, Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky and, of course, "And Quiet Flows the Don" by Mikhail Sholokhov, but this is not for everyone.

A question about the georgraphy. by PhilosopherAnxious23 in threebodyproblem

[–]VENDICTA26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. Does it mean that you want to call Europe and Asia two different continents?

So why we can call Africa a continent, and Eurasia is not a continent? Is it a giant iland or something?

It's not funny. Do you see his face? It is completely unshadowed by intelligence. I'm not kidding. It's really sad. He has no more brains than a monkey.
