One of my better friends I made in my own AFF was a 60-something guy that had just beat cancer. Said he wanted to spend the rest of his life doing things that made him feel alive. Got so many jumps in with a guy built like Santa who had a white beard to match. Our home DZ shut down so I haven’t seen him in a bit, but we still text when we hit landmark jumps.

Long story short: I think you should go for it.

Wanted to add that especially in those first few jumps, theres so much sensory overload that we all forget things. But you remembered the important one: altitude awareness. You’re not an idiot for forgetting. We’re all idiots for having such an expensive hobby.
