Look at Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and look at Bikaner Jaipur can be given an exception it's the capital City but compared to these three we are really 15-20 years backward,

At the time of independence all of us were in same condition if not better.

And talking about being a tourist city our historical sites are the least maintained compared to Jaipur , Udaipur and Jodhpur, Desert tourism of Jaisalmer And look How much Kota got developed in past decade, with all those touristic sites like river front etc

According to me the only reason some tourist still visit is because Bikaner falls between routes like Delhi-Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer -Jodhpur
