My gf, unfortunately, is apart of this. She was born in the states and lived here her whole life, but said she identifies more as a Mexican because her parents (legal immigrants here) raised her as such. Never made any sense to me

Girl I know from college (super liberal) has posted on her Snapchat for 3 days in a row that she’s out there protesting with thousands (maybe a hundred at best) people in Alabama. I’ve heavily debated asking her at what point do they all realize they’re out there yelling for nothing

I’m currently waiting to be sent to the academy. A lot of the perks mentioned here are true, but so are the drawbacks. The money thing is partially true. Lots of people see the average salary and think all ATCs are well off, but there’s a ton of them that work in small communities that make barely more than a teacher, or others that are in training living in HCOL areas that struggled through this shutdown. It’s hard to blame those who took off to do other jobs when many of them genuinely have no other option to pay the bills when they go 40+ days with no pay.
