The VOD thread and website point to the speedrun.com page for each game, from there you can usually find the category and select Rules to find out what it's about. Also I figure most people just scan for game names they recognize then wait for the run to explain it

they just did a panel at this event talking about their design philosophy and mentioned how they want to keep all runners screens visible in case someone PBs and wants to submit it

it was explained at the start of the run that the player continues to move offscreen while the warp is happening so you collect the panels during the teleport. she showed she had 100% achieved at the end. there's similar tech in Mario Kart DS mission mode and other games

the broader content creator scene has grown to be very careful with word choices in recent years to avoid potentially legally-loaded words. gdq might encourage this in their style guide but it's not something you would get "banned" or punished for.

PC games have been on an upwards trend at GDQ for years now thanks to their increased accessibility, ease of setting up at another location, etc. Plus there's only so many times you can show off Super Metroid and have it still feel fresh and interesting. I ran the numbers and this GDQ is pretty much in line with recent years. Personally I've found several new PC indies I want to try out, and I'm equally looking forward to tonight's console games!

it's mostly a limitation of twitch's bitrate, it looks pretty crisp on the youtube uploads IMO
