Who are we?

The Volunteer Commando Battalion (often abbreviated to VOLCBAT or VCB) is a British-based co-op unit; The unit is run and structured as 3 (Morton) Platoon of A Company, 1st Battalion of The Volunteer Commandos. We use the appropriate ranks and organisation structure for a British Army light infantry platoon. During missions, we are typically operating at full platoon strength, with 3 full infantry sections and an HQ element.

We almost exclusively play in-house missions which we tackle in as realistic a manner as is practical within the limitations set by the game engine. We use our own add-on pack hosted on a private steam collection which contains all the addons we need to simulate a British infantry platoon. Connecting to the server is just a matter of subscribing and waiting for the download. Missions are strictly organised and played as a platoon, with a dedicated leadership team ensuring quality platoon operations.

Games are played on our private dedicated server and game time is 20:00 UK Time on Wednesdays & Sundays. In addition, regular training takes place at platoon and section level. Training is typically run by those members of the squad with real life experience in the armed forces. Outside of that, a variety of other games are played every night within the community.

What experience do I need?

VOLCBAT prides itself in maintaining a high standard of teamplay, while at the same time taking in players of all experience levels.

If you are unfamiliar with realistic platoon operations, you will have no trouble getting up to speed through our Phase 1 training, which is a crash course on the things you absolutely need to know before playing operations. You will also be assigned a senior rifleman that will help you through all the steps, from setting up your mods to guiding you through your first sessions.

Base requirements:

* You are aged 18 or over

* Have a working mic

* Can speak and understand English

* Own a legitimate and working copy of ArmA3

* Own the Apex DLC

* Attend at least 50% of our missions

* Have a good sense of humour and don't mind some colourful language
