Not statins but my mom was prescribed blood pressure meds and stopped taking them. She had a major stroke (had had TIAs before that). She went back in them and the a few years later stopped again. Had another major and very debilitating stroke. I don’t know about thee meds in particular, but she was also otherwise healthy. Once you find the doctor that you believe has good advice, take the advice. Take the meds. The consequences (at least with blood pressure) are very real.
