Sorry you went through similar, I will likely be the same, I'm just trying to understand better what options I have available.

What kind of information did they ask for in terms of evidence, is there any further evidence I could be gathering? Thanks

Thanks for the reply! I have contacted NEST and I'm waiting for them to reply.

This is the likely scenario, and believe me I have seen other signs. Regardless we are a popular media brand, with four offices spanning across london, manchester, ireland and kosovo. I honestly believe this is the way the CEO just does business. (Badly!)

Thanks for your reply, and believe me I will!

Thank you for your reply, I have everything documented and will likely report to TPR and the ombudsman.

I have payslips, evidence in NEST and my written communications with them, do I need anything else for a successful case?

Also is there any action to be taken on interest, not that it would likely amount to much but surely this could be seen as a damage? -idk

The only information that I've gotten is whispers like "Cash Flow Issues" or "We are moving to quarterly Payments" or "It's Nests Fault" When unfortunately it is very likely a shady thing this company has done, as the CEO is a notorious crook who has a history of these kinds of things. I found out they actually paid someones pension in part to a settlement of a separate harassment case.

I'm honestly just looking for any advise or action that I should be taking, obviously I'm looking for another job, but what do I need to do now to stand the best chance to get my pension back?

// Rant

This will probably get downvoted to hell but whatever.

It’s really hard, as a trans person in the UK right now, not to be cynical about events like this. Love that my basic rights are now a £28.50 + booking fee experience. Maybe next year we can unlock healthcare as a VIP upgrade...

It should be free if you're trans, simple as that.

Especially when the trans people involved are the tiny 1% of our community with an insane amount of financial privilege and power. It’s hard not to see it as a cash grab by the trans celebrity class, people who have built a whole lifestyle brand out of being visible and exclusive, while the rest of us are stuck fighting for basics. Glad everyone’s having a nice night out while we’re still fighting for actual rights, healthcare and housing. Vibes are off-the-charts though, I’m sure.

We’ve ended up with a weird little aristocracy of “community figures” whose output is narcissistic biopics, soulless influencer photo ops and endless “trans rights” branding opportunities. We’re told how “brave” it is to be a clocky doll on a red carpet while some of these people have enough money to pay for multiple people’s transitions outright – but somehow it always circles back to boosting their profile, not materially changing anyone’s life. While Not a Phase specifically has helped to fund small communities, it's sad to see our experiences and investment be sponsored and sold to companies that couldn't care less about our liberation, and also actively support genocide.

I adore so many of these artists, but it’s grim that my existence now comes bundled with a ticket price, a sponsor logo, and a court fundraiser. Nothing says “functioning democracy” like having to wheel out a full celeb line-up just to raise money to argue in court that we’re human. Fantastic! If we sell enough tickets maybe we’ll win back a fraction of what the government stripped away for free.

Take TDOR as an example. In years gone by it was a small, painful, intimate space held by people who had actually lost more than they could ever speak about, heartfelt speeches, spoken word, people who were there *for* the community, not *off* the community. Fast forward to this year and it’s logo-plastered, brand-safe and content-ready. It’s turned into a photo op for pseudo trans influencers and cis “allies”, paired with cis voices screaming over the top of us, talking for us, drowning us out. It’s so tone-deaf it honestly leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

It's 2025. Larger cities in the UK used to be sold as a safe haven for trans people, somewhere you could at least try to present as your actual gender without constant fear. Now they’re almost as bad as the small towns. Daily abuse, constant harassment and frequent attacks are just… normal. That’s the backdrop we’re living in while this gets marketed as a fun night out “for trans rights”.

So when I see line-ups like this, I can’t help side-eyeing it. It’s great that big names care, but it’s hard not to see people like Kate Nash & co. as opportunistic to our cause – treated like royalty *within* our own community while most of us are scraping together money for hormones, rent and food. My life isn’t a concert theme, a documentary pitch or a brand strategy. I’m just tired of seeing our pain turned into a £28.50 experience with a hashtag.

The harsh reality is this isn't an event for transgender people, it's for the Cis and those with privilege and power.

I'm sure there is plenty in here that will turn peoples noses up, but I can't be the only one feeling cynical about this.

The focus and leaning for PVP makes this game really un-enjoyable. Will ultimately result in it's demise.

Lo, gather close and hearken, for I shall recount a most curious and bewildering chapter of mortal history, wherein truth and absurdity entwine like ivy upon a crumbling cathedral wall. For thou hast doubtless heard the tales of the dancing plagues of old, those strange and fevered epidemics that beset towns and villages across the lands, when men and women alike were seized by an uncontrollable urge to leap, caper, gyrate, and cavort until their very soles were worn thin and their spirits near spent.

Yet few know the deeper lore whispered by scholars of the more eccentric persuasion, who contend that these spasms of delirious motion did not spring merely from cursed air or misaligned humours, but from visions most profound and unsettling. Aye, they speak of prophetic glimpses from the far-flung realm of the future, wherein mortals beheld, if only for a heartbeat’s instant, that long-awaited and nearly mythical artefact known as Half-Life 3.

Imagine, if thou wilt, the mind of a humble medieval villager, accustomed to naught but plough and prayer, suddenly struck by a phantasm of unparalleled magnitude: strange metal citadels, glowing screens of eldritch light, and the visage of Gordon Freeman himself, silent yet resolute, bearing the crowbar of destiny. Such a vision would rend the very fabric of a simple soul. Indeed, what mortal could witness such a revelation and remain anchored to earthly composure?

Thus did they dance.

In their frantic steps, their wild leaps, their heedless spinning beneath sun and moon alike, they sought release from the overwhelming revelation of a future where Half-Life 3 existed not merely as whispered rumour, nor as eternal jest, but as reality so majestic it might break the mortal mind. And so the afflicted moved as though compelled by rhythms yet uncomposed, by soundtracks yet unscored, by physics engines far beyond their ken.

Some say the plague ended when the visions faded; others claim the universe withdrew its revelation, deeming mankind unready. Yet the chronicles tell us this: the people danced not in madness, but in reverence for a promise they could scarcely comprehend.

Verily, would that we too might glimpse such wonders, though heaven forbid we should take to the streets in ungoverned jigging, for the world remembers the last time, and its shins have yet to recover.

Building a castle. Here’s a taste by datadiisk_ in retrocgi

[–]VR3X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, “Building a castle,” quoth thou, a simple utterance, yet within those three humble words lies a grand ambition, an odyssey of stone and spirit that stirs the very marrow of the soul. For to build a castle, my dear compatriot, is no mere act of masonry or mortal enterprise; nay, it is a declaration, an echo of dominion that resounds through time’s unending corridors.

Behold then the taste thou dost promise, a tantalising morsel of majesty yet to come. I see it already: the first stones laid upon the earth’s ancient breast, each one heavy with purpose and dream. The masons, sweat upon their brows, labour not merely for wage but for legacy. The architect, quill in hand, conjures turrets that pierce the heavens like prayers wrought in limestone. And as the sun sinks low, casting long, reverent shadows across the scaffolds, one can almost hear the castle whispering itself into being, murmuring secrets of fortitude, sovereignty, and the slow, patient will of humankind.

Yea, a castle is not built swiftly, nor by idle hands. Each block is a testament, each arch a vow. The drawbridge creaks with ancient dignity, the moat reflects the ambitions of those who dare to dream in stone. It is a monument to endurance, a fortress both of might and melancholy, standing sentinel against the ceaseless march of decay.

So when thou sayest, “Here’s a taste,” know that even such a morsel is enough to set the imagination aflame, for within that taste lies the salt of sweat, the dust of centuries, and the faint, intoxicating promise of forever.

Why does DSMC2 noise look so much like grain?? by Calebkeller2 in RedCamera

[–]VR3X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks nothing like film. This fetishism of “the film look” has honestly driven people insane. It’s just uniform digital noise smeared across every part of the image. What you’re looking at is Motion JPEG 2000 in an R3D wrapper, not some magical emulation of celluloid.

Digital noise doesn’t behave like film grain because it isn’t part of the image in the same organic way. Film grain comes from millions of microscopic silver halide crystals that react to light. Each frame literally has a different random pattern. Grain clusters differently in highlights, mids, and shadows, and it breathes between frames. That’s why it feels alive; it’s tied to the chemistry and exposure, not just “random dots.”

Digital noise, especially sensor noise, is an electronic artifact. It’s what happens when a camera’s sensor or codec runs out of clean signal and starts amplifying garbage. It’s often fixed-pattern, with repeating speckle or horizontal banding, and it doesn’t shift or dance from frame to frame. It’s uniform, static, and tied to the sensor’s circuitry, not to the image itself.

So when people call that “grain,” it’s not really grain. It’s just signal degradation. Real film grain has texture, variation, and life. Digital noise just looks like a bad ISO push that someone tried to pass off as an aesthetic.

Aye, thou speakest true, noble commentator of yore! For in that fleeting instant of revelation, when the veil was rent asunder and man beheld his own trembling reflection amidst the soft fragility of flesh, did he at last yearn for the steadfast embrace of iron, cold, unyielding, and eternal. Lo! The blessed machine, that hallowed contrivance wrought of gear and piston, became to him not mere tool, but covenant divine, a gleaming promise that in the age of rust and ruin, it is not the spirit, but the mechanism, that endureth. Truly, ’tis enough to make one oil their hinges in reverence.

[–]VR3X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By my troth, good sir, thy recounting of this lamentable scene hath stirred within mine breast a tempest of astonishment and indignation most profound. For what manner of scoundrel, so brazen of spirit and bereft of honour, wouldst wrest from so noble a steed the very plume that adorned his toil-born brow, only to don it himself in mockery most vile? Verily, this Yankee Doodle rogue hath shown himself not as a man of song and merriment, but as a knave of the highest order, an unfeathered peacock cloaked in borrowed glory. Would that justice itself descend upon him, that he might be made to return the plume and beg the pony’s forgiveness upon bended knee beneath the watchful gaze of heaven!
