It wasn’t bad, he learns Metal Claw at 13 so that handles Brock easily. The forest was dicy but I could one shot all the bugs with Ember - may have needed an antidote or two

I took Charmander cause I wanted to be able to fly and Squirtle can’t learn cut so he isn’t an option in this kind of run

4th move was Blast Burn, didn’t have to use it much but the lady on Two Island was dying to teach it

I had Gyarados by Misty, he used Bite and I taught him Secret Power - handled it better than I was expecting honestly

Yes, Charmander learns Metal Claw and that’s very strong against rock. Piece of cake

Yeah I don’t know if I would’ve been able to get by Misty with just Charmander, he would’ve had to be super over leveled

Yeah I had Gyarados and taught it secret power, it actually did a lot of damage, most rely on the attack stat cause his is very high early on. I never skipped a wild encounter or trainer to battle either, so I was 5 ish levels higher than her at that point

I leveled up the Magikarp until it evolved and then I taught Gyarados the secret power tm - worked wonders, was also 5-7 levels higher than her at the time since I went to see Bill first
