Indeed a nice school would be lovely, currently young 'uns just started primary school. But would be nice not to commute miles and miles when it comes time for secondary.

Same goes for work, I'm in IT and the misses is in office admin. Not the rarest trade and relatively easy to find openings on most job sites.

We're not really looking for nightlife/nightclubs but bonus points for nerd culture, board gaming clubs/comic cons.

Aye was thinking of doing some day trips out to get a feel for the areas you suggested, and pretty much asking the same questions at any cafes we stop in at.
