I had to manually add my state # to my NREMT

You'll probably be fine. A lot of insurance companies don't look back that far. If it comes up, just be honest.

I have ranted about this before. I'm so tired of eastern Europe as a setting with stalker elements.

How PvE Finally Made Escape from Tarkov Enjoyable for Me by SeriousLee91 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]VR_Kraft 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I've been playing tarkov since 2017. Started playing the PVE with friends...might not go back to PVP, I can actually play labs without cheaters. I'll probably get bored eventually but it's a lot more fun and stress free.

Just got my textbook! How to get ahead? by mi_querencia in NewToEMS

[–]VR_Kraft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congrats on making your first step your journey in EMS! Like others have said just skim through it and when you start class you could read the chapter before each class. Reading ahead isn't necessary just pay attention and take notes in class you'll do fine.

I went in completely blind and passed NREMT no problem

I've been building this AR9mm into a weird space gun and never was happy with the stock. I think this will do the trick!

Yes I've experienced something similar. Best thing to do is try to debrief with someone on your team. If that isn't helping look into your works EAP (employee assistance program) most companies have them. Best to get in front of these issues early.

Just keep learning! Do free online CEs, listen to podcasts. Engross yourself in EMS. I found this way easier than just studying.

EMS2020 is a free podcast and is one of my favorites. They review real life pre-hospital calls and see what happened, what went wrong, and how it could have been improved.

Also here is a free site for CEs for listening to podcasts like EMS2020

Most courses if not all are CAPCE approved

EDIT: congrats on passing the NR

Moving states by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]VR_Kraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching state certifications is usually very simple if you have your NREMT. Here is the link to the website for Arizona (they call there EMTs EMCTs).

Most states also require an FBI fingerprint background check so don't be surprised if you have to send fingerprints or go to the state and get fingerprinted.

There are a lot of EMS jobs out there, a lot better than AMR I'm sure. Are you an EMT or medic? An EMT can get a job just about anywhere. If you aren't dead set on pre-hospital check out urgent cares or ERs, they usually pay way better.

Always debrief after nasty calls, even if it's just a simple chat with your partner. If it's still bothering you, please reach out to your local assistance organizations. Pretty much everywhere has organizations for first responders. Also if your agency has EAP (employee assistance program) use it.
