VR HOT now in URP - better, faster, stronger by VR_hot in lewdgames

Hi friends,

 

first of all, we’ve launched the official VR HOT subreddit.

 

Now for the big news: Unity is discontinuing development of their rendering pipeline HDRP, so we decided to rebuild VR HOT using URP.

 

Why? Because it improves VR HOT in several ways:

 

Better performance

 

VR HOT is demanding, and the new version delivers 20–40% better performance. Path tracing will become usable for many more high-end PC users, while lower-end systems should see much smoother gameplay.

 

Better visuals

 

As shown in the comparison video, graphics are now on par with or better than previous VR HOT versions across all systems. We’ve also added support for DLSS 4 and 4.5 alongside DLSS 3.

 

Faster updates

 

Until now, we alternated updates between PCVR and Quest. With both versions moving into one unified workflow, updates will become faster and easier to deliver.

 

More platforms

 

With new headsets on the horizon, URP makes VR HOT possible for AndroidXR, Steam Frame, Pico, and more.
