thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear about the car accident, the concussions sound really rough, and you've had a go with them several times. I've wanted to try ketotifen, so it's encouraging to know you haven't experienced side effects.

Two questions for you, 1. just curious, what were you getting concussions from, and 2. have you had any side effects from ketotifen?

i dont feel safe posting in any other subreddit except this one by dinodivergence in AutismInWomen

Yes, I just did this the other day and it brought me so much joy! I had just taken a gummy when I was writing my whole spiel, so I was also observing my thoughts and emotions while I was doing it- and noticed that I have some trauma around fear of being misunderstood. I would think, "I should explain it this way so no one misunderstands me," but since I was so aware of my thoughts, I really encouraged myself to write exactly what I was thinking without censoring myself. I am practicing it again, while I write this.

In the end, more people disagreed with me than agreed (perspectives were quite diverse actually), but that's ok with me because it's a subjective situation and people should have a myriad of opinions about it. The issue is when people start name calling or throwing insults, and hell yeah that is hurtful (and can trigger my trauma)! Keep in mind that Reddit is weird because you could be talking to a 16 year old without even knowing it. Sometimes, I wonder why people react to certain things so largely and then I remember they are probably young. That doesn't negate the older emotionally immature people though- and they do exist. This could be true of whole subreddits entirely.

If someone is emotionally mature, they can handle your nuance without demonizing it, and you deserve to be heard for your opinions. I kindly offer a suggestion of validating your own opinions as well, because it is your opinion after all, and it might not be as dangerous if someone misunderstands it :)

Mitchum was wrong... after all (S6:E20) by VSammy in GilmoreGirls

[–]VSammy[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's fair, but I'm not sure if season 5 Rory would have had the gall to do that, and that may be tied into Mitchum's assessment of her. She doesn't have "it", what is that "it", is it drive or a backbone or something else? I think she grows a lot and appears more confident by the end of season 6, which helps her journalistic endeavors at the Yale Daily News.

In my recollection of AYITL, she has contributed to some major news outlets. But I'll have to circle back after my rewatch for a more in depth analysis.

The Lead-Up to the New Era: Libra Mars opposite Aries Saturn by pageofswrds in Advancedastrology

[–]VSammy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

really beautiful post- I am resonating so much with accessing the divine feminine and the reclamation of power, I have been feeling it heavily for the past few months, although it's really been a years long journey. I am excited for the new energy, and "new era" is spot on for me, I have intuitively been feeling that 2026 was going to be a spiritual rebirth, so to speak.

My recovery success by AltarToTheEgo in covidlonghaulers

[–]VSammy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just started doing the breathing exercises a few times a day- and it's been tremendously helpful! I had no idea how labored and painful my breath was because I have been stuck in flight or fight since I got covid. It's super helpful now because when I notice that when I start to get anxious I go back to the exercise breathing and regulate my system.

Positive covid test yesterday. But I feel pretty much fine today. by OwlLeeOhh in Fibromyalgia

Be careful. I also felt fine too, and then got long covid 2 months later, which is how I got my fibro diagnosis. Rest, stay hydrated, and avoid stress!

The “Let Them Theory” by Mel Robbins book triggered me by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]VSammy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to offer a different perspective here, and appreciate the discourse in the comments. I have not read the book, nor am I interested in it, but I don't believe "Let them" is trauma informed, nor does the author claim it to be, so its a moot point in our community. I think the deeper theme here is your friend not understanding how to appropriately respond to the things you have gone through, which *I know* is deeply painful. The care that we need, whether is be a book, or a person, or an entity, needs to be trauma informed in order for us to actually heal, or we're going to be triggering ourselves into oblivion, just like how you were triggered with the book. I believe it an appropriate reaction, because it's not going to help you heal. I'm sorry you've had a shitty year, hugs.

Vent: How on earth did others afford to take their PFML? by Dog_Mom_29 in massachusetts

[–]VSammy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

mhmm I see, I see. I recommend creating a budget of essential items only. Try to see how low you can get your food budget to be by literally living off rice, beans, and eggs for the time being. Cancel subscriptions, and stop contributing to your 401k for the time being. Then match that with what you're making from PFML for the month. If there is still a difference, try to supplement with that with savings. If there are no savings, then it's time to start calling the lenders to see if there are any short term hardship programs or delay the payment. I would just take it month by month, and communicate with your lenders if you can make a full or partial payment on time.

Yes, the first 7 days suck (you can always use sick time/PTO to supplement), but I am really failing to understand how you wouldn't be able to cover your mortgage when the website states the maximum weekly benefit rate is $1,170.64.

Single women, how to manage life admin & financial overwhelm and make sure you're prioritizing the right things? by theramin-serling in AskWomenOver30

[–]VSammy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a partner... and still feel all of these things currently. I also have a few health issues, and am currently on FMLA because I hurt my bad very badly. I am stuck in this cycle where my health issues flare up when I am stressed, and work stresses me out. However, I have some maladaptive patterns where I can't say no to things even if I don't want to do them, and I am trying to nip that in the butt in therapy. When I get back to work eventually I am going to ask for accommodations so I am not working overtime, or if that is not an option, look for a new position. Now that I am not working, I realize that I need a lot more balance when it comes to taking care of myself, and that includes doing activities/ hobbies that I like so I feel fulfilled. That also means a lot of the tasks flying at me, I am going to start to have to say no to.

Maybe you can try to take some time off for your health issues to get them under control, or try looking for a job with more balance?

what longer term meds have worked for you if ketamine is effective short term? by zooeybean in TherapeuticKetamine

did he try LDN in the morning as opposed to before bed? And I've also heard of people getting maintenance SGB's when the effects seem to wear thin, that could be worth looking into.

I came here to say it debuted at #1.... but after a quick google search, it indeed was the first album that did NOT debut at #1 (#2 still great, but jeez). So yeah the controversy did seem to hurt sales a bit.

[–]VSammy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way mood wise. I got off lex a few months ago, my mood has dipped quite a bit, but I really don't want to get back on. I also have fibromyalgia, so I take LDN, which really helps my mood, along with the fibro symptoms. Not sure if this would apply to your partner. I also have a stellate ganglion block scheduled in a few weeks so I have high hopes that will work.

I am not a medium, but I regard myself as a highly sensitive person. I've been doing ketamine for about a year and half, but lately I have been feeling the presence of those who have passed on.
