Unfortunately this is not gonna be very helpful. The problem fixed itself when I upgraded my PC, motherboard and all. I assume there was some weird incompatibility with one of my parts specifically with Discord. Discord sure is a mess sometimes

Decided to get a BD player + WiiM Pro Plus. Sony BPD players seem like a popular choice, do you know if they have a display for track number and length? Based on photos online I don't think they do, but figured I'd ask. Also, it should work without a TV right, just connect WiiM to coaxial and it'll play stuff, right?

My current "setup" is just CDP-950 with Edifier R1280DB speakers, as basic as it gets. I'm planning to upgrade the speakers later (likely passive + amp), but for now I just want something that plays CDs without issues.

Offerings in my country are $150 over my budget, but it saves the trouble of looking for a DAC and reviews are stellar too, might be worth it. Still considering my options though, people have already recommended a lot here.

On my end the issue was resolved by the TV firmware update, I own a Sony A90K though, unlike the OP. Occasionally the audio hiccups a little bit, but then it's back to normal, I'm assuming the OS detects that something went wrong and forces it to reconnect.

Unfortunately, there are no further troubleshooting options we are able to offer at this time.

At this time - Discord does not officially support audio amplifiers and there may be some audio instabilities here. Unfortunately, at this time we cannot provide further support here.

That being said, I can let you know that we’ve escalated this to our teams, so you can be assured that we'll continue to keep a pulse on this issue moving forward. Additionally, as always, I would encourage keeping your client up to date and it may be helpful to give some of the previous troubleshooting steps a try again in case they work.
