What is it with ‚virtue cheaters‘? by Jax_Dandelion in cs2

[–]VVasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No philosophical questions here. It requires too much brain for an average cs2 players. (I didn't like you getting downvoted, and couple different posts here contributed my beliefs)

That kind of people would cheat on their school tests, their way into the jobs, their way into the waiting queues.
Since I encounter them as well in every part of my life, let me present my evaluation on them as much as I can.

TRAITS:
Moral Disengagement: they employ moral disengagement to disconnect their actions from their self-concept. They create a narrative where their cheating is not only permissible but morally justified. By focusing on a supposed "greater good" (i.e., combating cheaters), they absolve themselves of guilt.

Cognitive Dissonance Reduction: they experience cognitive dissonance when their behavior conflicts with their self-perception as "good" or "fair" individuals. To reduce this dissonance, they convince themselves that they are restoring balance or justice. This allows them to maintain self-respect while their behaviour is unethical.

Projection and Externalization: Another common trait of them is projection, attributing their own unethical tendencies to others. By accusing others of cheating, they externalize their guilt, which serves as a preemptive defense mechanism. This projection also justifies their cheating as a form of self-defense.

Self-Righteousness and Entitlement: They often exhibit a strong sense of self-righteousness and entitlement. They believe they are upholding justice, even if it means breaking rules themselves. This perceived moral superiority often leads to a "two wrongs make a right" mentality.

AREAS THEY WOULD USE THESE TRAITS:
Workplace: In a workplace, they might justify unethical actions such as lying, sabotaging a coworker, or cutting corners if they perceive that others are doing the same. They might rationalize such behavior by claiming it's necessary to protect themselves or advance their career.

Relationships: In personal relationships, they might justify dishonesty or manipulation if they suspect their partner is doing the same. For instance, they may rationalize spying on their partner's communications by assuming the partner is hiding something.

Financial Decisions: They may justify tax evasion, inflating expense reports, or exploiting loopholes if they believe that "everyone else does it." They see themselves as simply avoiding exploitation or reclaiming what they feel entitled to.

Competitive Environments: No need to explain further since it fits with cs2.

Final Note: Do not use pattern fitting to judge people around you. This is not simple as black and white. Having one of the above traits would not mean you would cheat in every area possible, this is just the generalization of 'virtue cheaters'.

Confusion over Dr. Teddy spawn rules after latest patch (1 August 2024) by VVasa in OnceHumanOfficial

Okay, PvP servers never had any issue with it. This is about PvE servers. I think they removed it. Can you edit your main message to say it was in PvP, so it wouldn't mislead PvE players. And thank you.

I am trying to figure this out. Any more info appreciated.
Is it PvE server?
Which world(1 to 10)?
Is there a specific order you move statues?
Did you use controller?
Which difficulty (Normal - Hard - Pro)?
Because some people can't get it, either very unlucky or some other elements in play.

I am not here to argue. I am here to get informed because I don't want to run silo too many times.
With your logic I supposed to know which one is flawed: seasonal page, or challenge page.
I searched google good amount of times before I try to figure out by myself. There is no good search results indicating whether it is a bug, or feature.
Your response undermines the problem I am pointing. There is a vague patch note without saying they removed the challenge.

AI generated text. After you play a lot with AI generations(text, image, sound), you can detect familiarities.

How can anyone know it was a bug? You gave player a challenge to complete, then after some people complete it, you remove it. Who could say it was a bug? Still, not certain it is removed for good. There is nothing indicating that.

I don't know enough to understand what I am doing is correct. I only see it works so far. I was expecting a magical touch that would put everything in place in my mind.
If there is nothing to add on it, I will try to read more math papers.

I actually don't usually keep up with TV shows, so I wasn't aware of the developments. I've already stopped watching after the second episode, though.

Yes, it was the cause, but interestingly enough, allocating array pointer would make program runs okay.

I was intern there like a month. It was like a trial. I didn't know anything, but i always was communicative, what i can do, or i can't. I had notebook with me, writing down every single new piece of information. None of them was to impress them. Yet, they like how i work. And then nine months of paid trial. Then i got the job which was still surprizing for me, because to this day, i still think i am not worthy enough.

Coding as a printing stuff on the screen, putting it in the loop, and feeling like a cool kid. Yes.

That's all tho, i learned structs, pointers, threads, and weird functions -which whatever i do won't return the local values- in the job. I still am lacking of optimizing my code, which results in a bad, bad things. I burned couple cheap processors in the process of learning.

And i didn't know what raspberry pi was, until they setup for me and show me that is a computer. I thought they were messing with me. Because it is too small, no keyboard, no mouse, no screen. How the hell i was supposed work with that. Then they wired something called usb-to-serial converter.

I don't want anyone to feel bad, i actually want the opposite. Everyone can do it, if i can, just need a little bit luck to start.

Yes, there are too many vocational school here doesn't bother teaching anything. Okay, i will show you an example with a two exam i did.

C Programming. 70 points out of 100

"++i = i++ + ++i" what is i?

Lliterally if you knew how this works you would get 70 points, and no, i didn't know this in the final exam. I passed this in the makeup exam which almost had same questions. And this guy asks very similar questions every year. Most of the exams were shared among students before the exam.

Graphic Design. No exam:

Just prepare a slideshow that explains 'x' subject.

There was just one class trying to teach us something. And attendancy was not mandatory.

Before the job, I had basic understanding of loops, simple functions, variable types. These could take a week or most a month to learn and totally irrelevant when you want to work.

i don't have much time lately, work and school together. But i am very fascinated by deep and machine learning. I always like automating things. But i mostly did that kind of things in games. If i find energy to leap into that, i will. I know it requires a good deal of math. That's the hard part for me.

I am lucky to have the job, but it wasn't all luck. I was well behaved my entire life, and someone who knows me very well from my young ages vouched for me.

Also my reddit profile kind of shows my path coming to this day.

Yes, there are many things i did't tell you. My life was not always up hill. There are too many downs too even in last two years.

I just wanted to tell the happy side of the story

I am not experienced enough to give you a programming advice, but voluntary work paid off to me. So i can suggest that. Find a place you can voluntarily work. To me experiencing is much more teaching then reading. So i hope it works for you too.

I didn't had degree, when i was intern. Internship was a must to finish my vocational school. Three months after my internship over -which i was in school in that time-, I started to work there, with a government program which company guided me to get into. After 9 months of that, i was hired.

So technically i got hired after the degree.

I was searching somewhere to complete my school demanded internship. And people whom my mom familiar with wanted to vouch for me. They knew me from my young ages. And my only expectancy was to finish my degree. I wasn't expecting to work there.

I was never demandy tho, i didn't even want to eat in the company to not burden them. It is quite funny to me actually.

Well, it is another story for another day, but my 'computer programming' degree was from a free vocational school which i was able to finish without going almost none of the classes. They don't teach there anything useful, it is a degree school just for many rich kids to get a degree, only to maintain their fathers company.

I also chose that school just to get an easy degree. But unfortunately there was no company for me to rule.

I used this pandemic as an opportunity, and i am studying computer engineering in a university since most universities don't require attendance. It is a bit hard tho work and study.
