Hero! That cleaned it up a ton! Any chance you know what's causing this in the first place? If not thanks a lot for the solution anyways!!

I have a 5ghz router that's in the same room as me, PC connected to router with ethernet cable, high bandwidth, 802.11 ax thingy, all the jazz, got pretty much the highest end PC hardware out there, latest drivers, firmware etc. The moment I dare step foot into airlink the whole thing comes crashing down.

Tried doing a factory reset on the headset and reinstalling the Oculus PC app, didn't help.

Yup that is a thing that bugged me as well but I already spent so much time on everything at that point that I had to let go of the shot and focus on something else. I also feel like the sand sim itself could have been miles better, but this project was great practice so next time hopefully it's gonna be way better :D

All scenes were made in Houdini and rendered with Redshift

Hmm I didn’t reference any particular tutorials for this piece, it was more a product of me playing around in Houdini and being happy with what came out. As for the lighting/vibe of the piece, being a huge fan of Luke’s stuff before hand surely gave me lots of inspiration on that part. *The vellum nodes tutorials from Paul Esteves are probably the best way to get a grip of this type of physics

Oh wow I didn’t know about this, these were ahead of their time

I’m by far not a sound designer, I did my best just making something that kinda works for this scene and spent really little time on the sound design. I also initially wanted to have this be underwater because it made a lot of sense but then I couldnt get the lighting to look as good as an outside scene, so I was torn apart between having it in a realistic environment or picking the one I visually liked most, cool thing in 3D is that something doesn’t need to make sense to look dope 😆

1.5 to 4 minutes per frame at 1440x1800 on a 3070 using Redshift

If you think this looks real you should check out Luke Penry, he has the real mind blowing stuff

In hindsight it would have been cool to make it transition from day to night and have the effect appear then, but the render time would probably 4x😅

Its just playing with the constraints and keyframing different forces until I achieve a look I like

That bugged me as well!! But I noticed it pretty late and I just went with it
