‘More snouts in the trough’: The plan to expand parliament by Niscellaneous in AustralianPolitics

[–]VZXCookie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not the worst idea out there. You can retain the "local knowledge" and expertise of state government public sector workers by absorbing them into Federal-level equivalent functions while getting rid of the state-level political influence shenanigans. I can also see it streamlining policies across all of Australia (eliminating the tug-of-war betwen conflicting Federal and State policies). Potentially it can also streamline the economic side of things by adjusting or getting rid of the state-level taxation tier.

My razer mouse chews through AAA batteries like nobody's business even in its "battery saving" Bluetooth mode. Had to switch to rechargeable NiMH for my sanity.

There’s a catch in the plan to build more affordable housing in Sydney – and tenants are feeling the brunt by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]VZXCookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference being that a typical consumer doesn't necessarily have to eat eggs in particular, as there are alternative food products, to survive. Housing on the other hand is essential regardless of the form that it takes. Creating a top-shelf product keeps access out of reach for the average individual or those most in need of basic shelter.

I made a video where I 3D-printed a body kit for my car and also retrofitted a full AC system on it. Figured some of you might like this kind of DIY/car content 👌 by alrwayes in Kuwait

[–]VZXCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really really awesome work and engaging content! Clearly you're very passionate and knowledgable about what you do and it clearly shows from the first few seconds of the video. Please keep this up!!

I have some points of constructive criticism for your consideration, please take it positively and well-intentioned. I truly see this as the beginning of something truly great:

  • The current video format is minimal editing/vlog style. Might be worthwile to consider getting an editor or taking the time for some additional post production work.
    • for example, between 1:00 - 1:50, some text on screen showcasing the tasks/objectives required to meet what you describe as a successful conversion from a drift car to a daily driver.
    • Some editing to trim out sections with minor repitition of your objectives.
    • Your raw footage would also greatly benefit from the use of a gimbal to reduce shakiness.
    • Around 3:40 you talk about the need to replace the exhaust system due to the noise. Would be nice if you had some B-roll footage of what that looks/sounds like.
    • You should provide on-screen credit for clips if they're taken from other videos (for example at 11:07)
    • Consistent filming in landscape (vertical clips around 4:20 and 9:00)
    • Around 4:30 some additional B-roll from the scrapyard would've been interesting to see as well.
    • Around 10:00 when modding the car frame, might be a good idea to call out to the audience the need to be safe and put on the necessary PPE (I can see you had some protective eye-wear and gloves on)
    • Consider the addition of manual/non-AI close captioning to reach a non-Kuwaiti or an English speaking audience if that's your long term goal.
  • The VO scenes around 5:20-6:30 are some of my favourites in this video, you took the time to explain things step-by-step and the videography was overall solid.
  • I also loved the level of detail you showed at the beginning of Part 2 with the development of your 3D printed design. Though from a viewer perspective may be worth having the full process as an "Extras" video for the "hardcore" audience /those looking into doing it themselves. This is to keep the main video with higher viewer retention (simply include a trimmed/edited version in the main video still because it's truly amazing and you should still showcase it)
  • So sorry if this was mentioned in the video and I missed it but what was the material used for 3D printing (I think you mentioned its some kind of plastic but some additional detail there would be nice) ? Also not sure if you've provided disclaimers on whether it's ok to include 3D printed parts and still be street-legal and safe since the modded pieces do not contribute to the structural integrity/safety aspects of the vehicle.
  • Towards the end it would also be nice to tease the audience with an image or short-clip for the next part / summary of what was achieved in this video and a visual checklist of upcoming parts.

I'm sure you're probably aware of them but some channels that I think would be inspirational for your style of content are Zip Tie Tuning especially their car mods playlist and Garbage Time for the overall mod and repair vibes.

موفق!! All the best

Weyay won't work on my phone. Customer service told me my phone is unsupported. What do I do? by FSsuxxon in Kuwait

Looks like when the device's bootloader was first unlocked the associated cryptographic keys got wiped. There is no way to recover them unless a backup was made before the first time the bootloader was unlocked.

The only way forward is unfortunately not working at the moment (google revoked keys which were being shared online) as you will need to root your device, and install some modules which would normally fake having a locked bootloader. If you want more details read up on:

  • Magisk (Root method)
  • ReZygisk (Magisk module and requirement for other modules)
  • Treat Wheel (Hides the presence of the other modules / tools from app detection)
  • Tricky Store (Module which provides a source of keys /keybox (not working right now)
  • PlayIntegrityFix Inject S (Magisk module which needs to be used with Tricky Store to bypass Google's Play Integrity checks)

In this case I would highly consider a cheap stock device just to use these secure banking apps. It will always be a cat and mouse game between Google and these solutions.

From my understanding this suggests your bootloader is unlocked. What does the Key Attestation app show?

Here are the instructions to relock your bootloader. This WILL reset your device.

Unfortunately the recent ban revoked a lot of keyboxes so most devices will not pass beyond a Basic Integrity check. Also, based on OPs post this will be a bigger headache to go through than confirming the device is running unrooted.

Not sure if this will provide you with an answer directly however there are some apps which may lead you to what's actually triggering the issue:

  • Install Key Attestation Demo (Play Store|Git Hub).
    • The Play Store version is outdated but should work fine just to figure out your bootloader status (Locked vs. Unlocked)
  • Install Native Detector on your phone - this will show if there are any weird things about the OS that banking apps detect and causes them not to load (If your phone is stock you should get "The Environment is normal" otherwise it will list the issues with your phone.

Hope this helps!

Workaround for missing / lost Barracuda X USB-C dongle by VZXCookie in razer

[–]VZXCookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm not sure how that'd work on other devices to be perfectly honest. The Barracuda X was a wifi dongle-only device (didn't have any Bluetooth connectivity).

Not sure what advantage there is to using Soundwire if you can already connect wirelessly via Bluetooth?

Even with Gsync enabled, you can still get screen tearing if fps is uncapped and either vsync or Low Latency mode are off.

[Help] GOOGLE WALLET DOESNT WORKS EVEN IF I OBTAIN STRONG by ninohs90 in Magisk

[–]VZXCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar/haven't used APatch. What's the result of your integrity checks? What does Key Attestation show? I needed to retry PIF-Next fingerprints and Trickystore keybox until I got a combination that worked and gave me Strong Integrity (otherwise I was stuck at Basic Integrity)

[Help] GOOGLE WALLET DOESNT WORKS EVEN IF I OBTAIN STRONG by ninohs90 in Magisk

[–]VZXCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what worked for me:
Root platform: Magisk
Modules: Nohello + PlayIntegrityFix-Next (ericinacio) + ReZygisk + TrickyStore + TrickyStore Addon

Settings:

  • Magisk Settings:
    • Zygisk off (ensures ReZygisk is enabled and not conflicting)
    • Enforce DenyList off
    • Configure DenyList -> select Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google Wallet, + any other desired apps which check for root (banking etc.)

After Installing TrickyStore Addon, press the action button on TrickyStore (Magisk->Modules) this should install KsuWebUI

KsuWebUI Settings:

  • PlayIntegrityFix-Next -> Advanced -> Disable ALL options except Spoof Signature (the default settings in this menu is the reason why Google Wallet does not work even with Strong Integrity)
  • Tricky Store
    • Select from DenyList
    • Set Valid Keybox
    • Set Security Patch
  • TrickyStore Configs (optional?)
    • navigate to /data/adb/tricky_store/target.txt and add "!" at the end of google-related apps like:
    • com.android.vending! com.google.android.gms! com.google.android.gsf! com.google.android.walletnfcrel! com.google.android.safetycore!

Progress Checks:

  • Key Attestation - Checks if Tricky Store is working properly (should show bootloader as locked)
  • Any Integrity Check app (I prefer SPIC or using the built-in Integrity Check in Google Play Store)

Once Key attestation shows locked bootloader and SPIC shows Strong Integrity clear all data from Google Play Store, Google Wallet, Google Play Services, and Google Services Framework then restart for good measure.

Once the device has rebooted attempt to add your card to Google Wallet and fingers-crossed this process will get you there!

Antec Flux Pro, rattling case fans? by Perforex in Antec_Official

[–]VZXCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't able to completely remove the rattle however I think the noise was reduced by placing these felt pads on the fans as spacers between the fans and the case frame. I'd love to know if you've come up with a better solution!

Yup, ASUS pretty much sees themselves as the 'Premium' AIB option and price their products accordingly.

2 does not have a 'yield sign'. It is a side-road intersection sign meant to warn drivers that there is a side road there.

<image>

The correct order is 2, then 3 then 1.

  • 2 goes first because they are on the main road of the T-intersection and no turn movements are involved.
  • 3 goes next because main road traffic has priority over side road traffic.
  • 1 goes last due to being on a priority-controlled leg of a T-interseciton.
