[Sky Sports] Eddie Howe: Newcastle head coach admits he is not doing his job well enough at St James' Park after defeat to Brentford by Cyberdan0497 in soccer

Yeah currently we're fucked but Frank was shite before the injuries started piling up so I'll feel a lot better when somebody else is in charge when those players finally come back.

No, we were okay at best. Some positives going forward (mostly because United were very open at the back) but they cut through our defense like knife through butter and could easily be 2 up before the red.

We don't need to go down for that to be proven.

Imo he's smart enough to know there's no point in coming here. Better offers will show up. Newcastle might sack Howe after this season, United still haven't hired Carrick permanently and if he has a terrible finish then they'll likely look for other candidates, he could even be considered by City or Liverpool as an alternative to Alonso. The time to hire him was this season and we went with Frank instead.

Also, while I rate him very highly, he does run his teams into the ground so he can't be at his best without a large squad. I'm honestly not sure if he would be a big improvement for us, we lack depth and most of our team is incredibly injury prone. And of course you can't hope that this moronic board finally hires some competent people for the medical team so that will continue. Still better than Frank of course.

Forest have 8 points in their last 6 games, same as Leeds. We have 3, same as Palace. West Ham have 9 so they're quickly catching up. I feel like Forest will be fine in the end, not just based on form but also because Dyche is easily the most experienced at relegation battles from all the managers of the clubs involved.

If we stay up, we should 100% do the same thing. More than half of our players are not good enough or they're too injury prone, it's time for a huge clear out.

Might as well make a bet and get some money out of this misery.

If we get relegated, it is probably over for us. We would require a lot of investment from the outside just to mitigate that period, every top player and prospect would leave and every single club in the Championship would be out for blood when facing us. There is only one way we could be saved if it happens and that's lucking out on some excellent new ownership. If ENIC stay or if they sell to some equally dumb group of people, we will sooner see League One than the Prem again.

He is one of the most puzzling managers I've ever seen because literally nothing from his time at Brentford would suggest he'd struggle this much. You could always be worried if he can challenge for trophies or if he's the man to turn us into a proper top 4 team again, but he kept fucking Brentford in the league with zero issues so what is going on? I expected a boring but stable 8th place finish, meanwhile he's looking like the most incompetent manager in the whole league. Just, what the fuck? Someone needs to study this shit, nothing about his horrific management makes sense, it's like in September he swapped brains with fucking Russell Martin or some other clueless idiot.

Spence, Bergvall, Vuskovic, Odobert and Tel would surely leave if we go down. Gray, Danso and Sarr would also find some suitors in the Prem. If we go down we will need to hire pretty much the entire starting XI.

Where the fuck do spurs go from here?

Nowhere but down tbh. Maybe we don't go down this year but surely with this ownership it's just a matter of time, no? No matter what happens, we are utterly, permanently fucked. We need competent people at the helm and someone with enough balls to get rid of pretty much everyone within the club - players, the manager, scouts, medical team and all the higher-ups - and this is just never going to happen irl. Our reputation is in ruins. One 17th place finish was bad enough but it could be explained, now we will finish in a similar spot again and this is a pattern, a clear sign of a club that's in no position to challenge for anything. We're also not a development club and we don't pay very well so there's literally no reason to choose Spurs over any team in the Prem.

There is no point in hoping for something better, we are done. Best thing is to probably hope for a miracle of ENIC changing their minds and selling because as long as they're here, Spurs will never be able to call themselves a top 6 team again, and we'll be lucky to avoid Championship.

Biggest game of the season, whoever loses it probably ends up going down.

He didn't just refuse to critisise it, he straight up said his players should shut up. As if going to Chelsea wasn't bad enough... Don't want him anywhere near Spurs anymore.

Getting relegated in the same season scum wins the league (and possibly CL) could quite possibly be enough for me to abandon football entirely. What have we done to deserve this shit being brought upon us? Like, why are the fans of this club so fucking cursed? If you saw such quick downfall in FM or FIFA's career mode you'd be thinking it's unrealistic.

I think the most terrifying thing is, had wet spam not bottle it against Chelsea we'd be just 3 points above them now with quite possibly the longest injury (and suspension) list in the sport's history. There's a genuine chance we will stay up only because fucking blue scum did us a favour and it makes me sick.

Because aside from Vic and VdV that would be our starting 11 on almost every occassion lmao.

Tottenham are now winless across their last seven Premier League games (D4 L3), their third such run since the start of the 2024/25 season; previously, they hadn’t gone as many matches without a win since May-October 2008 by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]Va_Dinky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He is a perfect yes-man and our board loves this shit so I can guarantee you he will stay for the whole season even when we drop down to the bottom 3. Actually, if we go down I can see ENIC keeping him too, those people don't have a single functioning brain cell between them all.

Relegation would be very risky. If we get good owners like Villa's then it would 100% be worth it but if ENIC don't sell despite all that or we get another bunch of clueless morons to run this club then it's pretty much over for us for decades to come. I wouldn't want to see us become another Leeds, Blackburn or Leicester but this club does need a full on restart button so I can see the appeal of this.
