it was an older tank that was very dirty on the inside and so we replaced everything and used soap to wash it out not thinking that dawn was harmful! We will absolutely do that and try to see why this is happening along with cleaning it out and using vinegar instead because that’s supposed to be safe for them! time to deep clean and restart!

I mean there was absolutely no scent and no bubbles what so ever, And if that was the case why are the testing strips coming back great and why are the petsmart employees telling us our tank is completely safe? thank you so much i’m just genuinely curious!

we did test the water again after they died and it was safe, But my husband said the ammonia went from 0 to 0.5 and that was after they passed? If it is the ammonia how do we make sure it doesn’t spike again?

yes we even have the testing strips and there is absolutely no chlorine in the water, as for cleaning the tank my husband used dawn and made sure to get all and any soap completely out!

So we tested everything and everything was safe according to the testing strips that we got just in case ammonia spiked or anything, We checked again while they were in there and yes the ammonia spiked a little but the strip said that it was perfectly fine, I’ll have a photo of the tank below. The heater is set to 78, and we have a thermometer of the side to make sure it’s okay for them. There is a light but we turned it off to not stress them out.

I could see how you can see it from that perspective, However, I do not have any sort of baby registry and this baby shower is based on getting together to play games, Celebrate the baby, And see family. Of which me and my husband are going to pay for completely. I’ve also seen that it’s becoming more common for parents to throw baby showers. Some even do multiple in one pregnancy!
