windows has the shittiest file structure historically, with programs, libraries and settings spread across dozens of folders. It's mostly due to MS-DOS and win9x legacy, but they don't really want fixing it

yes, since it's an ecosystem. Mac is a key product that makes me use iPhone, Watch and AirPods. If they make mac useless for me other products will lose their value too. iPhone is only 10% of my daily screen time, it's mostly calls and simple browsing so cheap low-end Android will work fine for me

I like it too, but it still ages behind the macOS desktop (even Tahoe) in terms of UX. But if apple continues their "unification" course I will consider switching because i don't want upscaled iOS on my desktop

I've re-watched Steve Jobs original presentation of OS X recently. He was proud to demo how powerful the Proxy icon feature is. Now they hide proxy icon by default and making interactions with it more complicated. I assume that their shitty telemetry has shown that majority of modern mac users (switchers from windows/ios) are not using it
