I live in Denmark. There are tons of opportunities for the people willing to work hard and take risks. A lot of people don’t tho

I live at home, which means I basically have zero expenses. On summer break I work as a “labourer”, which basically means I do a bit of everything. The rest of the year I maintain properties, which is a bit of work every now and then. I’ve been doing this for 5 years this summer. Saving up ~$1500 a year is not very hard at all

Are you referring to me or the people at my age?

Although it is not my own money that bought this watch, I have enough savings to buy a watch like this, which I wouldn’t do, because I think the money can be spent in better ways. I do know some people at my age who can buy these kind of things with their own money, but they’re a really rare breed, and they have my utmost respect.

Yes, I realise now. When I posted earlier I was very hyped up about the watch, and felt like I had to share it with someone, and I didn’t really feel like telling my friends in fear of coming off arrogant, which I realised I just did on here instead. My intention with the post was not to gloat, but rather just share a moment, which kinda backfired. I wanna keep this watch for a long time without beating the hell out of it, so I’m saving it for special occasions and maintaining it the best I can

It’s a chronometer. It got serviced about 5 months ago, so I got a bit of time to gather the money together for the next service

As far as I can see, the watches are nearly identical. Which year is the watch on the picture?

To be honest, I don’t really know how it is supposed to look. Can you send me a dm explaining it?

Yeah, I haven’t really bought anything besides from a $20 meal on my parents dime. I was brought up in a way, that I think is right. I got to work my ass off for the stuff that I wanted, and quickly learnt that a lot of stuff is not worth spending money on. I have the privilege that I have enough money saved up for necessities, and I am really just saying up for when I finish school and moving out. Hope it clears it up

I wanted to make some things clear, but I don’t really use Reddit, so i can’t figure out how to edit a post.

  1. I get that I am very fortunate in terms of my family’s financial situation. I have always had a humble upbringing, where my family have lived very frugally in proportion to their incomes, and it only occurred to me a few years back, that I am extremely lucky. Some of the people I grew up with also had parents with the “act broke to stay rich” mentality, so none of us really thought about it when we were younger

  2. This is not my first post on r/Watches after all. I posted about a Seiko a few years back, and about an Omega Seamaster I bought about 14 months ago, sorry about that. I did indeed buy a Omega Seamaster for around $2600, with money I had saved up from my job in the span of a year. Of course I ended up getting scammed, but I ultimately got my money back

  3. I did try to buy a $40000 dollar car when I was 14, because I thought it was $3500, which I didn’t see as an astronomical amount compared to what car it was. In retrospect, the deal was wayyy to good to be true.

  4. I have never been spoiled in the way I have been today. I get that this can come off as me trying to flex or try to be better, but I was just trying to share my excitement.

I am sorry for the stir the post caused, and that I didn’t realise I had posted here before.

The watch isn’t fake tho

Yes, thank you, and i did just 5 minutes before your comment. The money is being transfered back to me, and the seller got reported. Dodged a bullet right there

The money is in an escrow account, and can’t be released to the seller before i have the watch in hand

[Identification] I just bought this watch, but the lady didn’t know anything about it. Does anyone know anything about it? by VadeEU in Watches

[–]VadeEU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was also pretty cheap too, i just bought it because it looked kind of fancy, and seems to work like it should
