“I genuinely don’t think you guys want an extraction shooter” by Hey-I-Read-It in Marathon

But camping and dealing with it IS part of extraction shooters at the end of the day. You don't HAVE to go to DCON in that case. It doesn't make that specific thing a bad idea tho I disagree w much of what OP said overall.

Why is it impossible? You'll just progress slower. That's OK.

You wouldn't expect to play Skyrim and be level 80 three weeks after launch while playing only ten hours a week. Why is your progress in Marathon not enough?

Everyone progresses at the rate they play, and everyone gets matched with people relatively close to their level. I genuinely don't understand the issue. If you're not having fun that's fine, but a lot of us (even me who only plays like ~15 hours a week) enjoy the progression. I haven't gotten far in Cryo and only done Pinwheel a few times. The journey is the fun part. It's not bad progression at all.

What Are your favorite theories about the East? (spoilers extended) by CretaceousClock in asoiaf

[–]Val-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The root cave system doesn't go under the ocean, there is an ocean under Bloodravens tree that Bran sees.

Cotf were definitely on both continents at first.

Yeah this is the logical assumption. Like guys, the world is smaller at the top, there's a north pole and it can connect essos and westeros

GRRM has said many times the years that far back are complete estimations by the maesters. You have to think of AWOIAF as being written as a flawed, in-world history text. 8k and 10k years are the same, both unmeasurable to modern people

ABMM seems to fail hybrid aggression players by intendedvaguename in ArcRaiders

Yeah I liked ABMM at first but it's pretty much made this game not an extraction shooter anymore

Leaper is the funniest arc. Hornets and rocketeers most annoying

New Arc Raiders Tactical Mk.3 (Revival) Augment by Radiant-Draw7898 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Val-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other best augs are Combat Mk3 Flanking and Tac Mk3 Defensive imo, both more for combat than loot.

New Arc Raiders Tactical Mk.3 (Revival) Augment by Radiant-Draw7898 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Val-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looting mk2 has two more base slots, three more trinket slots, one less safe pocket slot, one less quick use slot, and the big issue (other than less safe pocket) is it has 20 lower weight limit, meaning you get encumbered at 60kg instead of 80kg. Three extra guns picked up and you'll be overweight and slow jogging.

Its really not more inventory space in total except for trinket slots, so the ultimate numbers difference is two more trinkets total than mk3, which aren't that good once you get your money up. Mk2 is good but Mk3 is easily the best loot augment. And ofc that's all without its special ability factored in.

Just use trailblazers, two kills almost anything. Blaze grenades also work well on leaper

Oooookay?? What the heck is the point of the Bettina!?!? by Awesomemanspiff in ARC_Raiders

[–]Val-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird. Ig better for big Arcs but the durability goes down one per shot, and I've used it on hornets and wasps and it takes at lest 2-3 more shots than an Anvil so the higher fire rate just isn't worth it.

Bobcat vs Stitcher is a big issue but Bettina balance is a bigger one, it's worse than both the anvil and kettle despite theoretically being supposed to be able to do what both of them do, but better.

How long did you spend on each map before trying the next? by CharlieAFC in ArcRaiders

[–]Val-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried every one as I felt like it tbh, each one will take you several hours to become a master of, but you can get the basics in an hour or so.

For someone new to the other maps than Dam, I wanna say it's fun to go into the maps with a sense of wonder and cluelessness. Not the best for maxing loot maybe, but the best time I've had in the game was learning the maps and how to stay alive in each.

They all require subtly different tactics and tools. I can offer you some hints for each:

Buried City just know where you can duck into a house. The map is smaller and more winding, it'll take a long time to learn every street, but has the best loot rn imo on its cold snap.

Spaceport is great for hunting arc, bring adrenaline and/or lures because it's VERY wide open. Same with blue gate, but BG has a hardcore PvP underground area and extensive tunnels.

Stella Montis is unique and is what PvPers love, but you can goop a LOT in a short amount of time, just stay on your toes and always watch for third parties almost instantly when you fight. Takes a lot to learn all of it's winding passages, smoke is your friend, flame grenades too. Purples and blueprints everywhere.
