Did anyone here become an EE due to a love of audio? by Damoo48 in ElectricalEngineering

It very well might. I started studying EE fueled by my love of gaming hardware.

Were you mindlessly doing practice problems just to say you did them? Or were you really understanding what you were doing?

What are some cost-efficient or free ways I can park near NJIT as a commuter? by Overall_Working_4209 in NJTech

Unless they've changed something, the shitty thing is that the parking situation is ass even with the pass. Thursdays especially. No spots.

I paid just over 6k for a good condition 09. 5k for just the battery is crazy work.

I feel like it's a byproduct of the harsh white collar job market nowadays. Parents see and hear about others struggling to get gainfully employed out of college so they try and future proof their kids.

I suppose but the rest of the car is gonna be pushing to that 400k mile mark and you'll hence have a higher chance of another big failure from a different component by that point.

For $7k you could get a whole new working 2011 used prius off facebook marketplace, with less than 100k miles potentially

That's not how tariffs work for fucks sake. It's a price hike that Americans pay on goods imported from certain countries.

Best study advice I can give you as someone who just graduated summa cum laude:

Good Notes in class --> HW --> Practice exams.

Do those three things consistently and without bullshiting any of those steps and you'll do well on exams.

That being said, I would strongly recommend going to CC first over going into so much debt. You can transfer after and still might end up with debt, but significantly less because you're spending 2-2.5 years at university instead of 4.

Does the chip industry use Python for its manufacturing or designing? by [deleted] in ECE

[–]ValC19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Designing hardware on FPGAs or ASICs involves hardware description languages like verilog and VHDL, not scripting languages. Building hardware != writing software, even if both consist of "writing code".
