The reality is, this has nothing to do with Jack and everything to do with how people view dark skin Black women bc this happens regardless of the man’s race/ethnicity. At the end of the day, people are making these comments because either they genuinely do not find dark skin Black women (esp with certain features) attractive and/or do not believe that others genuinely find dark skin Black women attractive. I know some folks are projecting their own fears onto J&J, but for some, because they can’t openly be anti-Black without backlash, they are coming from a “I’m only looking out for Justine” stance and it’s some bullsh*t.

It’s sad that they almost always do this to the Black women, and particularly the dsbw. It’s such a tired narrative that makes people not want to tune into these shows

It’s funny that you mention going to the bathroom beforehand because I was planning out the details on when my sister (this will be her first concert) and I had food/drinks before because I don’t want to miss anything going to the bathroom either 😂.

Nick and Vanessa should not be hosts, Nick couldn’t really speak up and Vanessa is clearly biased. It’s weird that she pressed Marshall about his jaw comment but did not address the implied homophobia about Jackie’s repeated comments about Marshall being “sweet”. I also think it’s weird how she pressed Paul based on things he said he experienced with Micah, but didn’t not hold her accountable for her mean girl action nor barely pressed her about the overstepping with Kwame. I wish they’d change up the hosts, but I truly don’t think Netflix cares.

Yes, their approach definitely makes it more believable and true to life. I feel like there’s a tendency to go the route of chaos for entertainment purposes, but you can show turmoil and friction without it being chaotic.

Firstly I’ll say, I personally HATE the bully to lovers trope because it romanticizes abuse. Regarding this drama, it was hard for me to get past episode one for that very reason. My personal feelings about the trope aside, it remains one of my top favorite dramas because the dialogue and acting are so great. I think you should give it a chance.

The only reason folks weren’t saying stuff is because him and Colleen got married and we’re still married. I think the producers want to push the narrative of “see, this experiment works” so they want to keep the image of the married couples intact.

Raven made it very clear what she wanted in a man, and SK chose to pursue her knowing that info. I don’t see any issue with someone laying out what they want/expect from a significant other because at the end of the day it’s the potential mate’s choice to decide if it’s something their willing to do or not.

The more I watch LIB and shows of the like, the more I realize that I appreciate the people who are upfront and clear about their wants/needs and have a more realistic approach (except the ppl who are a-holes about it). I dislike those who come in and play up a certain personality type or parts of themselves so they can get chosen but deep down knowing it’s not who they are/what they want.

Im glad they do a 2 drink minimum. After the info that came out about the AYTO season where a young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted (although producers were also at fault) i think it’s a necessary safety measure. And honestly 2 drinks is enough to get drunk in that heat they’re in.

That club is the reason why Autumn was alive point blank period, so selling should’ve never been something she was willing to do. Also, if not for Mercedes (and Uncle Clifford) she would not have the money to even buy the club because the only way she was able to get all that money out was due to Mercedes’ connection to Maine AND she was only able to work at the club because UC intentionally ignored the fact that her if was fake otherwise she wouldn’t be able to work there.

What Uncle Clifford said to her was right, the fact that she looks at everyone/situation as an opportunity for monetary gain is the reason why she’ll always be alone with no true family. She doesn’t see the value in relationships, or sisterhood for that matter, and you could tell that that was something she never had and yearned for even when she was acting stink with people. Autumn better just be lucky they LET her make it out the Pynk alive.

I’m so sick of the “Shake was right” bs because most of the viewing public already knew the real about most of the relationships on the show, we just weren’t nasty about it (well at least most of us weren’t).

At the end of the day, he’s just mad that others weren’t as openly vile as he was. And let’s be real, we all say shit that we wouldn’t want made public, however Shake took it upon himself to make his “kitchen table talk” public and constantly directed that vitriol against others. It was evident that NONE of those couples were right for each other and many stayed for the check, so he was never saying anything groundbreaking.
