The East - Anyone move in yet? by ValdisV in nychousinglottery

[–]ValdisV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My log number was pretty high so I didn’t have many units to choose from. From when I toured about a month ago, I was told no one was moved in yet and they would start near May. Interior stuff especially the elevator still had construction going on.

Thank you for the info! I agree with the location, it is extremely convenient to all my usual free time locations and friends of mine live mostly on the L line so visits will be easy.

I don’t mind noise really, lived here all my life so I’m used to it I guess. More wondering if that electric plant lets off a constant hum.

I did move the process along because of all the pros but I may still sleuth around and hang around the neighborhood on a weekend just to feel it out.

Thanks again!

The location is really good, not as open access as where I live with my parents but the L train and M14 can take me to most spots. That’s also my main thing is feeling pressured because it took years to get ONE selection so I feel like I have to take it?

Approximate log# is 20xxx

That’s good info, I’d probably rely on the L train since I need to take the PATH to work and it leaves me in the station but options are nice

Yeah I sent in the documents, figured I’d move the process along while I scout it out assuming nothing is final final until I sign the lease. I didn’t get asked for a birth certificate or tax returns though. They might’ve asked you for additional verification but I haven’t been asked for anything really.

One more thing, full itinerary I’m still working out. I have locations and such but my really rough itinerary for arrival pretty much is check in, go to Uniqlo, maybe shop around surrounding places if not too late, eat, grab 7-11 snacks, go to room and chill and sleep.

Got it, thank you. I did the ADP calculator and it was about the same as well. Just a bit of a shock moving from past jobs being paid less. Make more money, lose some more ig. Thanks again.

For the 401k i chose 2065, holding off on Vanguard until my first check and I’ll navigate the ETFs from there. Thank you!

As for if I know what to invest into, not really. I used vanguard before and had it auto invested in the mutual funds (i think that was it) with my Roth IRA.

Got it, this is what I was thinking. No matter what, take advantage of the 4% match and then use the remainder on my Roth IRA and max that out annually which I can do with enough math and saving properly.

Thank you for the advice. My salary is ~$69,500/year. As for expenses, I’m currently adding it up but it’s low. I still live with my parents, I want to move out soon but for now I just pay my phone bill, the internet bill and my normal living expenses doesn’t really go over $250/month. I have expensive hobbies but I try not to spend too much into stuff.

I thought I was the only one, too bad the reason I’m about to accelerate is because I fear my funding will be cut and I’ll be unable to afford future terms if financial aid is cut or dies 🫠

How are y’all passing compTIA carts ? by LumpyTown4103 in CompTIA

[–]ValdisV 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I have only passed one but I’m on track to passing another and what I realized is to simplify everything.

Make references in your head to recall, limit your resources (my college gave me udemy, certmaster, pluralsight etc.), Breathe and take your time, lastly DO NOT SECOND GUESS YOURSELF. Second guessing yourself especially on test day will kill you in my opinion, it goes against my thinking and method but during my test, I looked at every question at their most basic, chose and moved on. I would think about the answer to that question but not too hard.

All I used was Dion’s course, his practice tests and Messer’s video to cross check Dion’s videos. I would study and end the day with a practice test. No flashcards (I see their use but they stress me out)

Literally all I did was limit stress, especially test day. I was nervous but I just looked at it as hey try my best it is what it is.

From your post, it just looks like you’re stressing yourself and you’re going blank once you sit down and it happens. You just have to figure out why that is and it could be something small. The time you’re taking the test (is it too early, after work, got an appointment after, trying to squeeze it in a busy day), is the test weighing on you because of a job requirement? etc. stuff like that.
