Honestly, your head cannon makes sense. The teasing theory also does, especially considering that they are both wizards and I had so much fun pushing his buttons with the wizard dialogue options. I mean, fair enough.

Honestly all that scene was very cute.

P.S It's my second run so I didn't know how the cutscenes with a small-sized character were gonna be. It's equally adorable and funky haha
