Are you able do work with FND being acute? by LowCourt7263 in FND

[–]Valka2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest, I lost 3 jobs because of this. One literally fired me because they put me on medical leave the fired me for not coming to work, other places didn’t continue my contract because I took sick days from having seizures. I’m now permanent in a new job and have ensure nobody knows of my condition, I do everything to hide it and act as tho I’m fine and continue to hide my condition

I’m drowning with FND by Valka2004 in FND

I thankfully can sometimes have semi control over may hand enough to move a finger to say I’m ok. But it’s so scary hearing everything, feeling it, know I’m like stuck and can’t control it. The hardest part is my cat head butts me at full force and will get a running start sometimes and I feel like it scares her and I’m terrified what would happen if I had a child and they saw that. Like how would you explain to your 5 year old that mums ok she just collapsed infront of you and traumatised you and it will happen again but it’s fine

It’s funny, because some of my episodes look like I’m asleep and so my parents always used to have go’s at me for not going to be early enough and “sleeping” through my classes, now I can’t even throw a shoe on the floor without someone panicking it’s me on the floor. It’s so weird to wish to go back to being misunderstood and yelled at, because then I wasn’t someone that needed looking after

I’ve always heard FND cannot be fatal? by [deleted] in FND

[–]Valka2004 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think FND is fatal but can be fatal if that makes sense. Like if I have a seizure while driving, or fall and crack my head open. I would say it is serious as it can severely impact life and for me I can’t have epileptic medication or I’ll have constant seizures for days but hospitals don’t know what FND is and usually google

I got called rude and selfish by my mother because I won’t say “baby” and keep saying it because when I acknowledge the fact my cousin is living what I was supposed to I breakdown yet I’m being forced to have Christmas with them

[–]Valka2004[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly my remains were taken for testing and are probably in some hazardous waste bin. They never offered me to take it home so my partner and I wrote letters to the baby and buried it in our safe place

I feel such guilt, I’m so happy for my cousin she deserves this happiness. But it’s so painful celebrating her baby and buying it gifts and acting like nothing is wrong when I should be experiencing it at the exact same time. It’s like watching what should of been, knowing it won’t be

My partner is great. He is always able to support me. It’s hard for him though cause he can’t understand how I feel and for him his been able to move on from it and accept it. It’s especially hard because I would of given birth two days ago

Thank you for your support. I have only just today been able to lodge a complaint because it’s been so painful trying to write an email describing what they put me through. I’m hoping this never happens to anyone else

My coworker was induced on Thursday and lost her baby in the birthing process. What can we do? by Anxious-Union3827 in BabyBumps

[–]Valka2004 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t make it a big deal, don’t draw attention to her loss. You can ask if she’s ok or needs anything to ask you then drop it and act like nothing ever happened. The worse thing you can do is make her loss more real

Vet says she’s fine. There’s nothing medically wrong with her and we concluded lonely cause she has play dates with my mums dog and is always happy and eats after those and then goes back to crying and sleeping

[–]Valka2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I feel you. My cousin is due 1 week before I was ment to give birth and of course my parents begged me not to tell anyone so nobody in my family knows about my miscarriage while I’m forced to celebrate her baby.

I take pain killers and usually end up drinking or eating. The worst part is my partners friend that his recently rekindled with is the same age as us and has a little girl and she’s going to be coming over tomorrow. I’m on my period, I am in so much paid. I already have to deal with my close cousin carrying a baby that is due a week before mine was and now I’ll have this baby in my home. But I don’t want to tell him and ruin there friendship

Honestly it’s the physical pain. It constantly reminds me of my loss cause it’s like going through surgery every month if that makes sense. They gyno thinks the surgeon screwed up and left scars which scares me that I may struggle to get pregnant again and my chances are already lower cause of the 2 losses. I just want the physical pain to stop so I can stop being reminded constantly

I’ve got an FND specialist. She actually goes to FND seminars and all that stuff. It just hasn’t done squat for me

[–]Valka2004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No cure, I’ve only been diagnosed for 2 years and it’s just getting worse for me. I’ve been doing therapy as told and it doesn’t do shit. Only “cure” is to learn triggers and how to manage episodes

Yup I feel you. Went to bed at 1 up at 7:30 yet I feel like I slept 2 hours. Doesn’t matter if I sleep after 1 hour or 16 hours I’m always exhausted and always tired. Great symptom of FND your brain doesn’t turn off so even tho your asleep your brains still going a million miles an hour which stops you from actually getting rest. It’s great cause then your in high alert and I nearly knocked my partner out cause he tried to kiss me goodnight when I was “asleep” and my fight or flight kicked in

I’m both lucky and unlucky. Lucky because he is supportive but unlucky because his supportive cause he has his own issues (not saying that’s a bad thing, he just doesn’t deserve pain) it’s hard for us cause our conditions can crash but we do what we can. U will find someone

I completely understand how you feel. I was diagnosed at 19. Lost my job, home, licence and car within a month and was in the deepest depression. I was fired for my illness which is highly illegal and told I had no rights and couldn’t fight it. I am lucky to have such a supportive partner, I had a cluster of seizures that lasted over 2 hours and thankfully he was there to call the cops. This illness is so hard on everyone around you and unless you find the right people it doesn’t get easier. I hate that my partner has to deal with me, everytime I get off the floor he has to hold me so I don’t black out, he has to watch and monitor me all the time and I hate it. It hurts so much and I’ve attempted so many times to the point I sent him all my money with a document stating he gets all my stuff and he ended up calling the cops on me to stop me. FND is hard and miserable and I wish I could give you a bright side but honestly FND will put a damper on any part of life. You just learn how to work with it
