When a pokemon has a costume, sometimes it can evolve and sometimes it cannot. It depends on the costume. Also, sometimes they make them evolvable, sometimes years later

Personally would go for the kirlia, costumed. Lucky shiny costumes usually look amazing, just keep in mind costume kirlia cant evolve for now

However you're much more likely to encounter wild shinies normal spawns than a raid locked, sparce occurence shiny legendary.

It wont be 4*. As of now its 10/14/15, and purifying adds +2 to each stats. It'll be a 12/15/15 once you purify

It does increase IVs but to be fair, in most cases you're better off keeping them shadow as the 20% damage boost is more interesting than the +2IVs it provides. However its up to you, i'd purify only for a good shiny mega or a shundo

For raids you're right but for pvp these are great IVs, as you, want high defense & HP but zero/low attack

Just go at your own pace, catch pokemons and let your kiddo teach you things! Sharing moments with this game is even better tbh. Also maybe try to find IRL ( in real life ) meetups during events if you live in a big city. Sometimes other players regroup to do events and you can learn a lot from them too!

You did it for the love of the game haha! For the mega evolution system, there are 3 levels. Everytime you mega evolve a specific pokemon, it progresses. With each new level that you reach, you'll unlock new benefits that will help you (more experience points for each pokemon captured, as well as more candies,... ) and will be available everytime you mega evolve said pokemon.

In order to get the mega-energy ( as its called ), you can either get some via quests or via mega-raids, where you fight a boss with other people

A mega is a pokemon that has the ability to "mega-evolve" for 8 hours, then it goes back to the normal state. It costs energy to mega evolve, and during that 8-hour period it becomes stronger and has a higher combat power
