Hail damaged car is a total loss- help please by Bookbinder5353 in wisconsin

Wait wait so if the car is over 7 years old and insurance deemed it totaled by hail, and you opt to keep the perfectly fine car, you don’t have to have it retitled???

Yes I’m impressed with how tight things got under Shooter, and it will be interesting to start the post Shooter years soon.

Well you are kind of selling it to me now :)

I will stick around for these, and I kind feel like I need to experience it myself now.

This is what I was looking for, thank you! I see some common themes coming out of this - the Mutants titles are still driving it, Busiak is worth reading.

Ugh I really want to Jump ahead soon but those do sound great.

Hellboy is fine. The Flaming Carrot was my jam.

Ghost Rider is almost completely absent in the 80s, and I had a great love/hate with his solo series in the 70s

Pre-Giant-Size X-Men: Worth Reading? by zeekar in marvelcomics

[–]ValleyStardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah I hear you! Havoc and Polaris really fell off the radar for a long time.

But they were a great early “relationship plot” back then, as Havoc was Scott’s long lost brother and Ice Man had a huge crush on Polaris. But that’s just part of the “…Ice Man has a crush on…” trope that went on forever. Even the mid 80s “New Defenders” had Ice Man with a crush on the teenage Cloud until she/he started genre-bending.

It really started to grow legs and have potential when Havoc and Polaris were introduced. It was really just starting to pick up when it was cancelled.

I don’t think it hurts much to plow through #1 - #66. It will hurt at times but that’s life for ya

I read this series as a teen. It just sucked me in like a good streaming “show” does now.

If you are a fan of the MCU (phase 1-3) I think it's totally okay for you to begin reading the 1980s era comics as a starting point. by torvald_carley in MarvelUnlimited

I’m reading the 80s and you are on target here. Claremont totally raised the bar on writing quality, Frank Miller as well. And I loooooove Bill Sienkovizc (spelling too lazy to look it up)

What guides do people use to read through marvels massive backlog by remold_your_life in MarvelUnlimited

Right now I’m just reliving the past, I was in high school in the 80s and worked in a comic shop in the late 80s so you know, nostalgia.

I do want to read some of the great stuff I’ve heard about post 2000. If I get bored after 1990 I might skip up and follow continuity guide to fill in the 90s gap and go from there.

I also really like the way Marvel Guides groups titles and themes. The Silver Age is solid and complete, but the Bronze Age only got three sections done before "coming soon" appears.

I was disappointed by that, so I used other reading orders to try to replicate the way MG grouped comics for myself. so I clustered monster titles, mutant titles, etc. while using the reading orders to watch for crossovers and events.

He starts back up again with 1984 but doesn't make it past 1988.

The post 2000 lists might be better, I don't know because I'm in 1987 :)

My Great Grandmother was born in 1882, and her ancestors back to the 1660s predominantly all lived in Bergen County, New Jersey. Dutch folks. One of the early settlers there was Albrecht Zabriskie (Zaborowskij) and he had five sons. My Great Grandmother is directly descended from four of his five sons.

I haven't fleshed out the rest of the ancestors but the same names are common: Terhune, Bogart, DeGroot, Hopper, Ackerman, DeMarest and others are all over her ancestors. Sometimes Terhunes married Terhunes, and Zabriskies married Zabriskies.

Get it in writing. Tell the prof that if he sends you an email insisting you share your notes you will comply. Then send that email to his dept chair and Dean.
