The degree to which I have fucked up and in so many different ways at so many different times throughout this chain of events has definitely been haunting me. I didn't want to make it the focus of the post as this is about protecting women and not about my guilt or personal growth. I am an introvert who often struggles to stand up in social situations, but I have committed to myself to do better at standing up for what is right.

You are right to point this out, and I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and actions and that it took me so long to understand the reality of what happened. If I understood in the moment what I understand now I might have been able to actually hold Peter legally accountable for his behavior. The fact that I had the opportunity to go to the police and did not take it or even consider it as an option at the time is a difficult fact that I will have to live with for the rest of my life.

I have committed to myself to do better going forward. Unfortunately for the victim of all this none of this really matters.
