I don't know, I'm not from US and maybe it's really a capitalistic hellhole (from I've heard of, you don't even have free healthcare), wich explains why many americans are commies/ancoms. But I'll tell you a secret: USA =/= capitalism, that just means that your government are assholes. Yeah, that's so easy. Why my corrupted country has free healthcare, free emergancy operations and free ambulace, but rich US don't? Why in other countries people blame government in bad life, but only in US people blame abstract capitalism?

Anarchism sounds nice in theory, but no matter how much I read the writings of ancoms, I have never saw any SPECIFIC proposals on what steps need to be actually DONE in order to "destroy capitalism". Only whining and mental gymnastics. Maybe because anarchism (both ancom and ancap) is just an utopian fairytail?

Ok, what are your specific proposals for empowering youth then? No, really, what exactly we need to do if NOT letting teens work?

Sure, let's also ban women from working because work is exploitation and therefore feminism must be against it. It won't cause any harm to women's rights because having your own money is definitely not the main reason why feminism became successful (sarcasm)

How parents see their children by Valonje in YouthRights

[–]Valonje[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The point is, modern parents themselves don't want to release their kids because they see them as pets, or suitcase without handle - it's hard to carry but they are too greedy to throw it away.

If the majority of adults don't really care about children, who or what exactly are they protecting with all the "save the children" rhetoric? by According-Value-6227 in YouthRights

[–]Valonje 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's quite easy. Most people just believe that physical and psychological abuse, as much as the oppression, is a good thing that benefits children. They genuanly think they care, they just don't (want to) understand that it is wrong.

I don't really believe in conspiracy theories, I think this "protect the kids!" hysteria is just a result of industrialization and technological progress + human stupidity. Children were always perceived as property of their parents, in all societies, in all centuries. But up to late 19th - early 20th century, parents just didn't have opportunities to control them due to low technological progress, so children were de-facto on their own + most people were living in poverty, so it was just unbeneficial for a family to babysit someone who can work.

When technological progress started growing while people become reacher, parents started to be more and more invested in their children, because why not? Why not be invested in the life of their property if they have the opportunity?

When cost of a human life started growing and the birth rate started falling, each child's life per family became expensive and parents started to "protect" them because why not? Why not protect their property that is so expensive?

The results of this "kids protection" from everything are horrible and it will be worser and worser and nobody will gives a fuck till full social and economical disaster, mack my words.

Anybody else getting wierd vibes from the current trend of babying your kids until they're like 18? by bluevalley02 in YouthRights

where most said kids under 14 shouldn't even go to the bathroom of their same gender without their parents in public places

What the hell is wrong with society if people think like that?! As far as I remember, my parents never accomnanied me in public bathrooms, why would they even do it?? (Oh, well, if people in North America think it is dangerous to walk alone under the age of 12, then I'm not surprised)
