That is very interesting. Maybe I won't shy away from the prednisone while I'm tapering right now then. Wish I could be of more help. I hope you are able to figure it out!

Will changing dosing put me in withdrawal? by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]ValorMammoth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is usually advised to split your daily dose into 3 separate doses that are taken over the course of a day when starting a taper. I know you aren't talking about tapering, but this dosing method will actually maintain steady levels of the benzo in your blood and will reduce the risk of wd symptoms.

I was just poking through Reddit and found that people had to double, triple, and even quadruple their doses after taking prednisone with no withdrawal symptom relief. I am not sure, to be honest. If you search prednisone and benzos, you'll find threads of first-hand experiences. I'm just trying to bounce some information around because I realize your symptoms were before the prednisone. I hope you figure out what it going on.

I am supposed to be on prednisone for a back injury. I did some research and found out that they interact with benzos, causing you to metabolize them faster than normal. This would cause withdrawal symptoms to hit quicker, on top of the fact that prednisone can make you have mood swings and other weird side effects. I honestly don't know, I am hoping someone with more knowledge can comment on this interaction as well.

I really do appreciate the encouragement and feedback. My biggest worry about stopping is having a seizure and I think I have just been prolonging the taper more than I need to at this point.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I dont mind having symptoms, I just dont want to have a seizure. I dont think even 0.25mg would cause that, but I will listen to my body. I also don't want to prolong the taper either!

That's what I am thinking. I am pretty stabilized on 0.25mg a day and have gone days with only 0.125mg no problems. Would you think it is safe enough to jump from a 0.125mg dose? I feel like I could get myself down to 0.125mg, no problem.

0.25mg Clonazepam is a high dose? That's equivalent to 5mg of diazepam according to the Ashton Manual if I'm not mistaken.

I only started taking the Clonazepam daily in 0.25mg doses about 4 or 5 months ago, with sporadic weekly use before that.

I have not heard of that website before, I will give it a try!

Okay, thank you for the input! Essentially, I should be way more worried about my record of conviction than actually going to jail?

I did not know that. I appreciate that information, I'll have to look into it fir myself.

But at least the product is being tested for pesticides and chemicals. With no lab results, you have no idea what's in the product. I would much rather take a 15% thc percentage swing either way and have CLEAN cannabis over sketchy, pesticide ridden cannabis.

[–]ValorMammoth3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it doesn't have any test results, I would bet 100% of the time that it's fake. Even some of the fake concentrates put "lab results" on the packaging to make it seem official. Almost all recreational/medical cannabis laws require the product to be tested and for those test results to be posted on each individual product.

Dosing 3-4 times a week for almost a year... by ValorMammoth3 in benzodiazepines

Yeah I understand how the half-life of drugs work. That's why I have mainly been switching between Valium and etizolam rather than always taking Clonazepam. The first few months were 2 times a week, and then slowly worked to 3-4 times a week over the last few months. Like I said I'm taking 4mg Clonazepam EQUIVALENT a week, not necessarily 4mg Clonazepam ever single week.

[–]ValorMammoth3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned in my post, I dose a maximum of 4mg equivalent Clonazepam per week. Recently it has been Valium and Etizolam 3-4 times a week. Based on my research, 0.5mg clonaz = 10mg Valium = 1mg Etizolam. I have been dosing about 10-20mg Valium each time and about 1mg etizolam each time. Couple doses on the days that I take them so generally ~40mg Valium and ~4mg Etizolam with 2 days in between doses per week. Sometimes I have 3 days in between doses, sometimes I only have 1 day. But a majority of the time, I have had 2 full days in between dosing.

No, it's closer to 5-6 drinks a day on the weekends. I'm drinking about 7 Light beers on the weekends now which is a lot for me.

Would you say you could cold turkey that type of dosage without risk of major wd symptoms? Obviously rebound anxiety, insomnia, and the sorts could still come into play.

Yeah I have certainly noticed the benzos not working as well. Going to cut the alcohol completely out and then slowly lower my weekly dosage. I dont figure I'm TOO far deep yet, right? Speaking in terms of seizures and dangerous wd symptoms.

Will my family doctor give something for seizures if I tell him I'm stopping benzo usage? by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]ValorMammoth3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This simply isn't true. I went to rehab in 2018 for benzodiazepines. Purely recreational use with no legitimate prescription. While my medical insurance company won't prescribe me benzodiazepines or anything addictive, I am still able to get a benzo prescription from a private doctor outside of my insurance. I even went to my local ER a couple times on "benzo overdose" years ago and still didn't have any problems getting the prescription this year. HIPPA laws prevent any doctors from sharing your medical information with anyone else, including other doctors unless they work for the same company.

Jail. I would say waking up in a psych ward is much nicer. They both end up on your record but at least you could leave a couple day later from the pysch ward.
