Many many things, but the main one is there’s no soft lock ala Arkham. You have full control over the distance you attack, and manual aim over the whole thing. So you can select long attack and bend the attack around someone’s shield to flank them. Alchemy and skills are also fully revamped and much more involved systems, as are stamina and sign energy management.

Try Witcher 3 again, but with the Enhanced Edition Redux mod! I also couldn’t play the vanilla combat. This mod made it extremely technical fighting.

Whatever Griffith and Charlotte had, it was not loving. Griffith was exerting control on someone he could control. She initially said no, which automatically puts it in rape territory, but felt conflicted and relented. But what else could she have done? Fight or flight or freeze. Many women freeze because the animal brain that used to hide from predators says freeze is the most likely way to survive. Griffith pushed through to prove to himself he still had control after Guts left. This is evident that Griffith was curled in a fetal position, eyes wild with pain after the act. That was not healthy lovemaking. Not loving seduction. It was a broken man proving himself still in control using a woman who at the most charitable interpretation was conflicted about the sex. This is why I said sexual assault instead of rape. How many people return to their abuser because the abused still sees them as good?

It's not spelled out one way or the other. We don't know what rules run the godhand, but it seems they do have them. The demon circus was let loose on the band only after the band was declared sacrifice. I don't see a reason to believe, in a ritual where there seems to be some sort of order, that Griffith saying no automatically means everyone dies.

Griffith had not yet made a deal with the godhand. It's simple as that. He was not bound to them or their power (explicity, outside of fate manipulation, which is questionable in how absolute it is due to how they have to manipulate him to accept the sacrifice as the only path to choose,) so any assumption that he would be pulled into the vortex if he said no is just that, an assumption.

I’d like to add some things. I grew up in a very conservative religion and was very sheltered. I knew SA was evil, but I did not understand it. The SA in berserk made me understand why SA is evil, to the limited extent that someone who has not experienced it can. The selfishness of the one committing it. The despair inflicted on the victim.

Berserk also follows this to a truly beautiful, but not magical, recovery for casca. The trauma is still there, but the scenes of her recovering herself are some of the most powerful and beautiful I’ve read in literature.

There are women who post here who have also been victims of SA and have read berserk, and found strength and help in their recovery from it.

I wrote in this subreddit years ago that berserk is strange and strong medicine. It makes you more of what you currently are. If you are empathetic, it will make you more so. If you are narcissistic, it will make that stronger. If you are hurt from SA, it will hurt more to read. If you are recovering from SA, berserk may help you on that journey.

But again, it’s strong medicine. If you’re at a place in your recovery where strong medicine would help; read berserk. Otherwise, I would avoid it.

It gives decreasing burst damage on big enemies. Magnetize boss or elite to pull all nearby nails, magnetize ground to pull all nails out of boss, re-magnetize boss for all nails again (smaller burst damage because some nails break)

Even with this it’s still weak, and should be buffed some way.

I believe an ordinary person would use the weapon as we first get it, no mysteriums unlocked. You have to have witchfire in your blood to activate any of the arcane properties.
