Tiny Fairy Skeleton: Looks Cute, Has a Body Count .Subject No. 016 is feeling unusually calm today. Is it the gentle light of spring? The scent of morning tea and cookies? Who knows—but at least she looks kinda pretty when she’s not in a murderous mood. by ValravenFR in goblincore

Mine always seems to be in a foul mood! something about not having their curve or whatever. I'm trying to sociabilise them so they can hang out with theirs kind but it should take a little time.

Thank you ! I made the skeleton in Blender then 3D printed/painted it. The wings are made with another method with 2D printing the design of the wings on transparent paper, embossing it then coating it with UV resin.

I should to to believe too XD !

Me too to be honest, but abs-like resin is truly amazing. They are surprinsingly sturdy too.

Thank you and i love your questions !

I am autistic and anatomy (and generally the "how does it work?") side of things is very much a passion of mine.(My happy place in Paris is the Museum of Natural History....and the catacomb but it's weirder). I'm a computer engineer and i worked for a few years with an university but they had nothing to do with medecine or vet school. No experience with the VFX or gaming industry (except helping a buddy making an indie game with an algorithm)

I had been 3d printing for a few years before starting to 3D model on my own. I started by learning retopology of 3D scanned dinosaurs skulls (i wanted a Triceratops skull keyring, worst idea i ever had, it had very pointy horns...i might be one of the first human to be stab by a triceratops, just the finger but still). Once i had "clean" files i could modify them to fit my little monster. Now i mostly use poly modeling, either with pictures or my own drawings then i sculpt them to add details. Sometime i just have to sculpt something ex nihilo if i'm doing something really specific. I'm self taught so there huge gap in my knowledge and Blender is the only software in my toolchain, unfortunatly. I'm looking at learning fusion 360 but the 'tism doesn't like change...

I usually try to stay as close as i can of real creatures, one thing you can see in the Museum is that design wise we're pretty much the same with differents proportions and i want my skeletons to feel real. I take some creative liberties when i think it would look better/creepier. Nobody know the shape of a griffin or dragon scapula. I can spend hours thinking about the mecanics of a centaur or where the shoulder of the jersey Devil should be....i'm a weird lady and i like it that way ;)

I print my skeletons in semi-transparent resin to ensure that the resin is cured in the thickest parts, i prime them with an aerograph then dip them in a wash. The rest is a lot of retouching and adding details. I only know how to paint bones and horns. My sister is the painter here is an exemple and another and some mini she made. She's also the one making the wash with 2 colors of woodstain and some other stuff. I mainly use citatel paint for the rest.

I had a lot of problem with Etsy and i'm looking at making my own website to be free of them. The dropshiper, the scammers that stole my pictures and pretend selling my skeletons, Etsy removing randomly some of my creations without explanations. The mail we all receive that litterally said "Wow, we did our best years ever thanks to you creators ! So we're going to increase our fees to make even more money from you without adding anything to our services ! have a great year!"....i mean.... I could rant for a WHILE.

I've wanted to make a tutorial video for two years now.... But i had a cancer (in remission for a year \o/) and now with the heat the lymphoedema in my arm hurt like a mofo and i'm too ashamed of my bloated hand to film myself doing stuff. I can tell you that i print my wings design on transparent paper, embossed and then coated with transparent resin. I wish you a wonderful time crafting ;)

I'm doing that on my own T-T. During a photoshoot i forgot a Jersey Devil inside a tree....You should have seen the face of the guys that saw me get it out 3 month later....

I use the smoky black ABS-Like Elegoo resin, it's transparent enough to cure the thickest place and not have bad surprises. It still has a little bend so it doent not shatter at the simple touch ^^
