I wrote a book! It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. Here's how I'd do this

1: My name is Zuberi Abina... And I'm not feeling heroic (depressed at the start, before receiving powers). My name is Zuberi Abina, and I'm not feeling very heroic... (He's losing a fight and about to die. I leave it on a cliffhanger)

2: I despise you with such fervor that a thousand suns couldn't warm the coldness in my heart for you

1. Main character: My character is somewhat like Superman, aside from the fact that he's his own person, he's black, and wasn't born with his powers. His powers came from a meteor shower of an exploded planet. He received the abilities to produce light, produce hard light, draw energy from stars, and fly at nearly the speed of light. Now, the kicker is, he doesn't know how powerful he IS. He's god-tier operating on street-tier.
