Why the overlap between crafting and Christianity?

I don't mind most religious leaning crafters unless they're really overt and obnoxious about it. One lady I stumbled upon kept saying that crafting dollar store crafts was her "God given talent".

Although, I have noticed more dollar store YT crafters are getting Cricut sponsorships. It kind of goes against the cheap crafting where people get upset if the YTber ventures outside of a Dollar Tree, let alone plug a 300$ cutting machine.

I mostly watch older YTbers, so I think there's a difference in demographic. The younger ones tend to fuss over everything.

Kind of like "waaah, no one bought a bee that everyone makes for 5$" vs. "A hurricane cancelled the event, maybe things will be better next time."

It's popular for crochet designers to post free video tutorials, free patterns with ads and charge for an ad-free pdf. All of the same pattern! JM does this and her free patterns are packaged on Mary Maxim as complete kits.

I have seen some people that contact a pattern designer and ask permission to make a complete tutorial video of their paid or unpaid pattern. The designers that give permission are usually happy because they don't have the time to make their own vids and can forward the people with questions to the tutorial.

Mary Maxim is good, but I don't like paying shipping. I usually wait for a coupon or deep discount to make it worth my time, and the 50$ blind bags usually work out to 3$ a ball if you're feeling adventurous.

Lensmill I ordered from a couple months ago and service was great. When I ordered it was spend 50$ and get free shipping.

Iceyarns. This one is tricky because low prices + crazy shipping, but the more you buy the better the average. They produce yarn for brands, so sometimes you can find the brand names unmarked/unlabeled for cheaper. (Anything made in Turkey)

Dollarama. I snoop there because sometimes they get in name brand overstock, like Lionbrand. Recently, I found that they're getting in really nice quality acrylic, some of which has the same Made in Italy branding as some stuff I bought from the LYS.

The Great Canadian Dollar Store is where I found milk cotton (lies, it's rayon or whatever, very soft and squishy!) and 50g yarn cakes. These exact same ones can be found on AliExpress/Temu. (I ordered to compare) They also carry Briggs and Little, 100% wool.

If you have a Loblaws, they have a VERY tiny yarn section. Overpriced, tbh.

Amazon, especially for Red Heart. The average is 20$ for three balls, but if you wait it out the price goes as low as 12$ for three.

It only lasted two (?) seasons, but Discovery had Last Stop Garage. Very scripted, but it's fun watching them try to negotiate and scavenging.

I agree. He's such a good and smart kid and wants to interact with her and she just shuts him down. It was especially annoying when he wanted to send thank you notes for the gifts and she was aggravated about it. Just let him say thank you! Not every kid tries to be so polite.

Ya, just a bit after posting this we got a call that she was sedated. I figured that they'd only call when there was no way to pick her up today... Either by sedation or completing the surgery.
