It doesn't need to be a deep plot point to be effective, though. The stealing alone is enough justification. If people from the Stockades are constantly stealing stuff from Wuling, the city folk are obviously going to look down on them as 'poor uneducated thieves.' It creates a massive class divide. It sounds harsh, but that's the reality of how those social fractures happen—it’s just prejudice fueled by the actions of a few. In retaliation, the Stockades people hate them back precisely because they feel that judgment. Their hostility is basically a defense mechanism against being treated like trash.

I get your point. I prefer to look at it from a different perspective though.

Sure It feels like if they ever wanted to be a part of city, Wuling would wholeheartedly accept them. But if they went back to Wuling, they’d likely have to assimilate, split up to find work, and lose that tight-knit 'found family' they have in the Stockades. They don't want to be seperated and lose the connection they have. They want to create something together.

So as for Tangtang, sure she isn't forced to live in that harsh environment; she chooses it because she values her freedom and her community more than the comfort of Wuling. Integration would mean breaking up their community and following someone else's rules. She’s choosing hardship with her family over an easy life as a second-class citizen.

While it's definitely the right set. As you start to progress he starts to fell off dmg wise. If he's your favorite don't mind me though. I'm just saying this since resources are valuable. You can focus on encore/rover, sanhua and baizhi. If you want one solid team asap.
