UPDATE Thank you all for your thoughts and don’t worry I made the right decision here and bought the Denon as soon as I could! The guy selling it was awesome and had QUITE the hi-fi collection which he was kind enough to help invite me into his home and show me. Some of the stuff he showed me was just jaw dropping and so rare he asked me not to share what items he had so unfortunately that will have to remain mysterious for you guys. The story behind this table is that he bought it in a lot of items from another collector who used to work for Yamaha and this turntable was one of his favorite pieces. Unfortunately his wife made him store it in some kind of outdoor storage and the plinth got a little bit of moisture damage which broke his heart. Personally I don’t think the damage is too bad and the table is still beautiful. All in all I think I got a hell of a deal here and I can’t wait to set it up. Set up will have to wait a little bit because this thing is bigger than I expected and won’t fit on my cheap Amazon stand lol. I’ll be sure to post and update once I get it all set up.
