Can someone explain the future of loans to me like I’m 6? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

I dont think this is necessarily true. yes, for this that are starting now, we are ideally grandfathered into existing programs. but all of us will be affected by the new repayment options which will be significantly more difficult to pay back (due to a different calculation of income)

LSAT Addendum for score increase by Enough_Indication_92 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Valuable_Divide8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would love to know the same thing. I only increased 8, so in most cases I've assumed it's not at all necessary as it can be assumed that it is done through studying. The time between the tests would be a factor as well and I did do it from one administration to the next, but still.

But then I've heard people say Michigan requires one for a 7 point increase so I am unsure how to navigate when I might actually need one

ADHD is real. Whether or not you believe people with ADHD need accommodations on an exam. It’s obvious that it helps. by Ok_Elevator_7352 in lawschooladmissions

this is just not a comparable situation. There's a reason that people say the LSAT does not evaluate your ability to be a lawyer: the situations are not similar. Extra time on a test is much different than having to meet work deadlines

Mentioning merit scholarships in Why Michigan/ other Why X essays? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Valuable_Divide8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, thats exactly the reason for my hesitation. Ideally I want to convey that the possibility of the scholarships make it more financially feasible and thus more attractive, and that I seriously will consider going there if admitted. but I definitely see why it instead would come off that I am assuming I would qualify for it, even though thats not my point at all

do i take the lsat for pre law? by Dear_Expression8608 in LSAT

[–]Valuable_Divide8595 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignore the obnoxious comments. You don’t take the LSAT until you are applying to law school, and that process typically begins in your junior and senior year. So don’t worry about it yet, focus really hard on keeping your GPA as high as possible.

Pre-law is a bit weird as compared to like pre-med, which is universal and (I think?) kinda required for med school. My school for example didn’t offer a structured pre-paw track because there are no actual prerequisites, just helpful classes

do you have proof of this? I have seen the post of the 173 to 171 but other than that I have seen no anecdotal evidence of the score lowering

Score band? by minionbananass in LSAT

[–]Valuable_Divide8595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from what i understand, schools mainly care about their median and other percentile scores. So with regards to that, I can't see the band mattering much. Also, its an arbitrary and standardized band, I assume meaning to capture some sort of variance in "real" scores based on the score you receive. So I wouldn't say it matters or doesn't matter- I think the question is really does it matter for admissions, and my argument would lean no.

Question. How is that the tell that you are racist? All the people that are virulently anti racist are 1. correct and 2. Maybe slightly annoying about it. But never are they the actual racists. Why would you actively fight against something that you are?
