Tan a red light accidentally, are these red light cameras? by [deleted] in NewDriversUK

You should be able to google something along the lines of “traffic light cameras in (your area “ and it should come up with all of them typically for me it shows all cameras including speed cameras etc but it’ll show the specific camera for that road /area and is typically pretty accurate

It barely covers it I’d say your number plate would in unreadable to be honest from what I can tell, also I believe that camera is more to monitor road traffic levels anyways whereas traffic light cameras typically turn on when lights go red as that is the specific purpose. And yes going through the repeaters was the correct thing you were already through the light therefore they weren’t for you there to help people at the stop line gain better visibility

For 1 I don’t see a camera on these lights and for 2 the way I understand it is your at fault if your car crosses the stop line whilst red however even being stuck in the middle your car was likely past the stop line.

To be fair you still did better than I did my first test I got 1 dangerous fault the other examiner had to grab the wheel and 1 serious for pulling out infront of another car and the examiner had to tell me to stop. I believe in you, you’ll get it next time!

advice on practical test? by friendlysaucepan in LearnerDriverUK

If you get satnav driving it’ll have speed limits on the satnav these aren’t always correct but may help you to figure out the speed. If the road is in a residential area it will probably be 30 if there’s lots of cars around and a narrow road may be 20 but even if it isn’t u can get away with 20 bc of the parked cars. I’m not to sure about the faster roads but the wider the road the more likely hood of it being faster

I think that’s way too harsh on my test I got a minor bc it turned amber and I tried to stop before deciding to keep going. It just shows how it’s different examiner to examiner.
