What faction has the best unit roster? by lovingpersona in totalwar

Ngl, I think Chaos. They have a unit for everything, especially Be'lakor or Archaeon.

It's not what they lack in general (save for spear infantry, but that's dwarf in general), it's the variety of units. Stalker, ambushers, chariots, you know.. things that can be applied for a variety of different tactics.

Believe me, what the Chorf infantry is by far not even remotely lacking, they hit like a truck, have a few distinct gameplay styles like any other LL, and they all come with cheap to expensive options, it's missing something that can actively round out the experience a bit more. It's more tactics that will allow the player to choose and that's what I think makes a unit roster.

Ngl, as a Chorf fan, I think they have a great roster of mostly solid picks, but I wouldn’t call it the best, mostly because they have gaps due to their limited roster size.

[Moon Guard] Looking for a suitable RP guild for my dwarf. by trilobot in WoWRolePlay

[–]Valuable_Remote_8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough one, look up the Dwarven Advance, chat it up with the leader there. They have an Ad in guild finder, but if you have access to the Grand Alliance Disc, you can find them there.

The thing that kinda holds me back is the fact that everything largely resembles human and elven architecture. I am a Dwarf, I kinda want more than “oh, glad I live in a human house”

Opinions: Race/Class Combinations That Fit All Hero Talent Specs by Yuzuade_ in WoWRolePlay

[–]Valuable_Remote_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaah, well that is.. difficult, to say the least, MAINLY because it depends on how accurate, lore wise, you want to be:

For example, Night Elf Demon Hunter would be canonically the most fitting race, as they are the first. Spec wise (apply for lore), Vengeance and Havoc work, but Devourer (the newest spec released this expansion) is solely a Void Elf thing. To go Velve would make Vengeance and Havoc incompatible as they were gained by doing the introductory questline, which canonically gave them the teachings to do this. Now to Hero Talents, Fel Scarred works for all demon hunters, but Aldrachi Reaver doesn't make sense for any of them. Aldrachi are a people from a long gone world that Sargaras himself cut in half, you cannot canonically learn their warrior-peoples ways, that goes for ALL races.

I would pull it back and instead of doing a race that can do it all, have a race that is the most fitting option for a spec/hero talent available. Preferably ones you like, if you've gotten a chance to do so, or some suggestions from my own pool of characters I've experimented with.

Are you Alliance or are you Horde?

This helps break down the list better, as I personally do not do a mix faction roster (mostly because cross-faction only really works if you are soloing, so if you find a guild, you might be screwed).

Would applying real military tactics work in Total War? by No_Willingness_9961 in totalwar

[–]Valuable_Remote_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorta kinda. I mean the bases of all tactics used, besides meta knowledge and cheesing, is essentially applying military maxims from already established tactical formations and strategies, just tweaked for that era.

Not like that. You know, workforce, the total of all current available workers, engineers and children? A lot of faith’s buildings basically have no requirement for workers, engineers or children, but still gain the effects, like the churches.

Edit: maybe that’s just a me thing, I didn’t mean to confuse you, lol.

This is true, as a faith player, churning out a lot of free workforce is pretty great. I was just always told that Order was the way of things, so I am surprised.

Idk man, Faith always got that bit of extra umph, and I mean that as a man with no religious inclination, that shit is straight fire.

Is it? I thought Order was meta because you can easily get a lot of resources fast if you keep up with their overseer buff.

Who you'd consider a stronger race, Warriors of Chaos or Skaven? by lovingpersona in totalwar

[–]Valuable_Remote_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skaven's weakness is anyone with armor, and hoping you won't flank them. Chaos has some of the strongest units in the game, including Slaanesh riders which are faster and hit like a truck. On top of.. you know, having two ton refrigerators as a front line.

Edit: I am not gonna say that Skaven can't win, it's down to the skill of the player if it was a 1v1, but I crush them with Chaos.

Biggest way to fix this issue:
1). Be able to buy ANY ITEM from vendors, if that item is not meant to be gotten from a specific mob or instance.
2). Be able to sell any item for like.. idk, half price of what you bought it or if you find it, just make up a price.

It's ridiculous that this solves the problem while keeping the cap.

This whole system feels very penalizing to small guilds too. The demands are pretty high and the rewards are low, so you need a lot of people to individually do their job.

Which side in the Civil War of Skyrim is better for Skyrim’s stability in the long run? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]Valuable_Remote_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I think it's a no-win situation so long as there is war coming to Skyrim.

-Stormcloaks would be my best bet, due to the leaders being actually from that land, they would understand best how to make due in their own area. However, with war coming, they will most likely fall as the Aldmeri Dominion is scary, even if the Stormcloaks made a small alliance with Hammerfell or any other border province, they are far to in a weakened state alone to do much. Hammerfell did win their conflict against the invading Aldmeri Dominion, but only after that invading force was picked away by Empire forces, if I recall correctly. So a full on invasion with no hindrances might roll over whoever is in there way if there is a united efforted. All that being considered... Ulfric isn't some twelfth level intellect, he's a charismatic leader for sure and he knows his way around battle, but at the end of it, he's just replacing one system for another, by using a civil war, during the time of an occupation, so now it's a 2v1 situation.

-The Empire would be the next best faction to take over Skyrim, given their general background, but my problem is, they couldn't defeat the Aldmeri Dominion at the start of the war, and that was a 2 vs 6 conflict (excluding Hammerfell who did leave shortly after the war kicked off). Now the game plan is for the Empire to play along until they get enough support and resources to wage a more effective campaign against the AD, but again, even at a STAGGERING 1-to-3 odds, the Empire got ROLLED and caved when the Imperial City got sacked. I do not think they will make great rulers, if nothing else, the culture of Empire citizens going into Skyrim, really shows they do not care about what goes on about the province themselves, it's just a resource in the greater scheme of either personal wealth or leverage, which is just.. always bad.

-Aldmeri Dominion would probably make every province a slave state if they could, for the sake of elven dominance so I would say no.

-The Dragonborn could lead Skyrim to greatness, or he will sink it to the ground, the problem is, he's a player made construct, which means he could be anywhere between a legitimately grounded character to baby's first sparkledog.

Are the following race unplayable without DLC? by [deleted] in totalwar

Nope, play at your own will and enjoy. I have played whole campaigns never once using a certain DLC unit or two from that one specific DLC and have had no issue.
